I keep track of expenses, and food costs boggle my mind. Quoting: FlockOfSmeagols $19.99/lb for a mere choice ribeye. $9/lb for chuck eye steak. $8/lb for lean ground beef. $9 per package for Black Label Bacon. Cod is $10 per pound. A pound of frozen Tilapia is $8. "Brand name" BSCHIXBRST $6/lb. The prices for nuts are astronomical. ~$2 for a dozen jumbo eggs, I buy jumbo because they are the size normal eggs used to be. Almost 3 bucks for 3 hearts of romaine. 79 cents for 2 lemons or limes or a lb of bananas. Over three bucks for a package of seedless red grapes. $1.50 per avocado. Over 3 bucks for a bag of Honeycrisps. Organic multigrain breads $7 a loaf. Still have my steel cut oats on sale because no one else eats them I guess, BUT 2 for $5! Olives of all kinds $7. Quart of Pure Leaf Unsweetened Black Iced Tea almost $3. Plain Tomato Juice over 2 bucks. No way in HELL they ever let us eat at decent prices anymore ever again. Starve us out and freeze us out. Fake eggs and maggot sausages for us here on out. Wow..those prices are low compared to our stores. $8 for a bag of grapes, $3 for eggs, cereal $6-8, lamb $14/lb. etc etc. Insane. |

When I finally learned how bad it was, I got off of it (it took time, it's an addiction) and now never touch the stuff. I drink nearly a pitcher of Hibiscus lemon Tea everyday, it tastes like Hawaiian punch without the sugar. If you have to have the sweetness use stevia. Find teas you like and drink those. Everyone needs to stop soda. Soda makes me sad, so does commercial cereal and frozen foods. If anything needs a reset in our society, it's those three aisles in the grocery store. At least many chips are still some sort of real food. Tomfoolery |
