Doctor says to me, "your cholesterol is in the normal range but just a little high, we need to put you on cholesterol meds."

I tell the doctor "there is no way I am taking that cancer causing crap"

Doctor say "why does that matter if you smoke cigarettes and it does not cause cancer"

I say "so since I smoke I should injest everything that causes me cancer? and yes statins can cause cancer"

Doctor then gets pissed and gives me a really hard time about everything from that point forward.

I hate general care doctors with a passion.

why is a card needed to tell your doctor you don't want to be weighed?????????? and don't want the vaccine... or you don't want anything else.

I do not weigh even myself anymore at home.... for at least 10 years now.. I tossed my scale and I have been maintaining my lost weight for a long time now... consciously mostly and I simply know if I am over eating and I do now and then.. especially at holiday times... and I have a snug biker shorts.... which will tell me very quickly if I am gaining or losing...

for some reason after a gain of 2 to 5 pounds I just naturally revert back and it goes away... Its going away now.. the early winter holiday gain.

People need a card to tell their hired professionals what not to do? Weird.

Medical staff think they are the boss, but I’ve always figured they are working for me. I get annoyed when a fat doctor tells me I am underweight, so if I ever go to a doc again (seldom) and am asked to step on a scale, I will decline. I have been uncooperative with medical instructions before but it never occurred to me to say No to the scale.

Note: I am only underweight due to bone loss. Otherwise I am healthy and fit. Overweight women often think healthy weight women are “too thin” and “don’t look like real women”.

I need a "Don't take BP card" because I have ACTUAL REAL anxiety so my BP and HR spikes up high in a doctors office, the worst thing about it is all the dipshit nurses and doctors don't understand what White Coat anxiety is and I always have to explain this shit every single time.

If it's about "body positivity" then it they should be proud of their "big, beautiful" body and happy to be weighed.

The cards actually show that they are ashamed and stressed about it. As they should be.

But if you're fat because you want to be or you have an eating problem, just own it. Not looking at the scale doesn't make it go away. It's not like Schrodinger's Cat, where it takes an observer to manifest it into reality, LOL

I've never understood the need to weigh at every visit. I agree that it is anxiety-causing, and for women it doesn't matter if they are normal weight, thin, or overweight, it causes anxiety. If you are there for a cold, a urinary infection, a tetanus shot, or some other unrelated thing, why weigh? They have your weight from your physical. Once a year should be sufficient.

They weigh you because your weight determines the dose of any prescription you will get to treat whatever illness you came to see the doctor about. But let's just skip that because stepping on the scale hurts your feelings.

If a doctor dont know a patient's weight prior, they aint doing their fukn job.

Not everyone is at a doctor's to get meds. And they have your weight from your physical. So making you step on the scale just because you are having a BP checkup or have a urinary infection or an earache is stupid. Once a year is sufficient.
