Re: I forgot to winterize my outside faucets. Question
Run the water at a trickle. If you are going to be gone for a while turn off the mains, and open all your faucets. For next year get heat tape and or foam. Maybe they make a combo heat tape foam product. Broken pipes can turn a whole house into a moldy hell hole in just a few hours. Also get ready for a multi grand water bill. Also get ready for losing your spouse. I've seen marriages blown up by this.

I appreciate the reply

I don't think running cold water at a trickle for one night will be a a grand water bill.

You must mean if the pipe breaks

I've got the wool sock, then the thick plastic bag over the faucet, then inside I have 3 faucets running at a trickle with cold water.

Yes thats what I mean. Coming out at a drip it will cost a few bucks a day but if the mains break its at 100% blast for who knows how long. Its going to be a big bill.

This ^^^. Trickling on multiple sinks for several days last February was less than $10. It doesn't have to be hot water - Moving water is what doesn't freeze as easily.

Something I don't see mentioned is that houses in areas that get below freezing tend to have cut-off valves to outside spigots. Check your inspection report from when you bought your house to see if it's listed in there.

I see now where you mentioned looking for and not finding the cut-off valve.

If you can't find the inspection report, check on social media for your area (Nextdoor, FB, etc.) - I'd guess that there's already people talking about where it is.
