that you also aspire to lead a quiet life
that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business,
and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

that you may walk properly toward those who are outside,
and that you may lack nothing.

that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Christ has to get you in that mode of life.

Otherwise, the noise of the crowds drowns out the still small voice.
Who is a liar more than one who denies that Jesus is the Messiah?
One who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.
Whosoever denies the Son does not have not the Father, either. - 1 John 2:22-23

I've always felt this way. I might add getting rid of some of the modern interferences can really help in your journey. Don't watch TV, limit screen time to essentials, no cell phone in the bedroom, watch or listen to nothing with advertising. Treasure solitude, jettison needy friends and family, be content with yourself, learn to turn of the internal dialogue that is critical and disparaging. Vaya co Dios

Re: that you also aspire to lead a quiet life
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Re: that you also aspire to lead a quiet life
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;
and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;
of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Paul use to refer to himself as a wise masterbuilder. when asked what he was building he responded a prison for the gentiles.

Remember Jesus did not come to setup the church, he actually fought against the religious leaders of that day.

But Paul saw an opportunity to gain control over the gentiles and seized it!

Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

2 Timothy 2:14-16

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

I notice it is very easy for you to hand out that sort of advice as your stomach is well fed, your neighborhood is violence free, your bank account is functioning, your car runs well, your house is furnished, and you have all of the Bibles and reference materials you want. And all the clothes and shoes you desire.

Is this true?

Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me;

Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, "Who is the LORD?"
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God.
