Anonymous Coward User ID: 79210271 Netherlands 01/08/2022 09:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | About 10 years ago, I purchased a bucket of emergency food with a 25 year shelf life. The company I purchased from is no longer in existence and I need recommendations on a new company to purchase from. Quoting: Pole Cat Not looking for any of that BS they sell at Walmart, Amazon, or any big chain conglomerates. Not interested in MREs either as they do not have an extended shelf life. - Are you talking about Emergency Essentials? I've got a load of that too. Be careful of any bread or muffin mixes, I had several cans go round by expanding under pressure. Right now Augason Farms is the only thing remotely affordable. At that expect 2-3 times price increase versus when you last bought. - |

The bucket I purchased last was $400.00 and was top grade product. The company went out of business due to not selling out to big chains. I will research Augason. Thank you for the reply. |

Crypto-Tard User ID: 80150817 United States 01/08/2022 09:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The cheapest and best source I've found for long term storage foods is rainydayfoods.com. They sell super pails (food grade 5 gal buckets) of aluminized mylar sealed grains and food items. An oxygen absorber is put inside before sealing to leave only nitrogen around the grain. Shelf life should exceed 30 years in most cases, if stored at a cool temp. These people are Mormons, the pros at long term food storage. The prices are cheaper than what you could package the items yourself, very good people to buy from, in my experience. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80695649 United States 01/08/2022 10:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | rice & beans Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78338329 but if you have to store shit to live 25 years you are prefcuked I'm kind of with you on that one. Stick some pecans in the freezer. Buy or dehydrate fruits. You are set if you live in the country and have fruit trees, a garden, and a few chickens. Even people in town can have blueberry bushes and a small garden. People need some fresh produce to supplement the beans/rice or freeze-dried crap. You still have to think about vitamins and not just calorie intake. |

You can probably get everything you need at a grocery store. but I wouldn't procrastinate. Scotus may OK the mandate and banks and grocery stores may decide you need to be vaxxed to be a customer. I don't know how that would fly in Texas or Florida but if the worst does happen be prepared. If the villains are able to get their workers paradise set up it may take a few years before complete collapse. Rest assured, complete collapse will happen.
