I remember a story about someone leaning on a statue in a museum and breaking the arm on a statue. Inside the statue was rebar. The museum said it was for show and the real statue was hidden in back room. They were never able to produce the original when asked. I wonder how many “classical” statues are modern frauds to obscure history.

I wish I could find the story but its gone now. All I can find now is a story about some girl breaking off the toes of a statue trying to take a picture. The other story has disappeared.
