The Stand -1994 vs 2020 version

Can't go far enough as to say 1994 rocked. Some of the casting was poor, to say the least. Not necessarily bad acting, but just not appropriate casting.

2020 was kind of a Stephen King self-indulgence tour. Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abigail? Jesus wept.

I'm not even going to discuss the pathetic "Randall Flagg".

Time to put it back in the theatre of the mind.

I definitely prefer the '94 Randall Flagg, even though I think Skaargard is a good actor. He's too pretty to be evil incarnate.

Come to think of it, I like a lot of the original cast.

2020 wasn't bad though.

I think the 2022 version will be the best.

Biden is pretty good as Randall Flagg so far.

Love the book, have read several times.

Enjoyed the 4 part from '94 - could have been cast better but wasn't horrible, nobody that stuck out like a sore thumb and screamed "shit choice!"

...WHICH I can't say about the newest travest... err, I mean VERSION. I got through about half of the first episode - twice - watched the tailer for the 2nd, and have never gone back to them. It would take a lot for me to sit through those - like, strapped to a chair with eyelids cut off maybe.

I met a couple of the actors from the 1994 version over the years. The guys who played Harold Laudner and Tom Cullen so that one is my favorite.

I don't regard remakes.

Thanks for posting this. Didn’t realize they’d remade it.

The casting for this new one looks much closer to my imaginings of the characters when reading the book years ago. The casting in the previous one (1994?) was all like wtf? for me.

Caution:
It's shiite.
The 1994 is fun and tracks the book closely.
The 2020 remake is damned near impossible to follow.
It's a meth head fever dream, all out of sequence and charmless.

The book was good, will have to catch the `94 flick sometime.

A shame if they messed it up in 2000 ? remake.

Now if I get to , ? Wal-mart won't have it, anyway thanks for posting this very cool.
