I’m need major life advice.
So 2 and half years ago, the love of my life for 8 years and I split. I spent the reminder of 2019 and 2020 healing and all of 2020 and 2021 getting my life back on track and focusing on building a good life. I have achieved it with a great job and I’m now enrolled at LSU Online earning my MBA. I fought so hard to get over the extreme damage she caused me and I definitely came out a much better and wholesome person. I am still super sad though, last year I started back to dating and just haven’t found that woman with the spark that gets me. I’m 6’4”, a good looking man, and in extremely good shape. I have been on dates with women in their mid to late 30’s who are damaged or our values just don’t align. What truly makes me sad is that I want to be a Dad and I feel too old and that time has run out for me to become a father. It scares me because I would make a good Dad and I have always wanted to be one, my ex couldn’t have kids due to having her having a historectemy due to health problems. What do I do? I wake up everyday with a massive hole in my heart and it scares me but I press onward.

Re: I’m need major life advice.
You didn't say how old you are. A guy can have kids when he is older than woman because of biological clocks in women.

You have your life together. It has been two years, but it may just take longer.

Never make long-term decisions based on panic or fear. Instead, pray. Watch for good women to come along. Read some good books on finding women and how to do it. Don't depend on your looks. Instead, think of yourself as a regular Joe and find a woman based on your needs rather than looking for someone who you think deserves a great-looking guy.

Re: I’m need major life advice.
With your height, you should be meeting a lot of women...

But yea, dating apps, the women are more confused than ever, even the ones who claim they are tired of games and want to settle down.

The only ones that are serious to get get into a relationship are the fat ones and ugly ones.

Anyway...never too late to be a dad. My friend is 50 and just became one so highly doubt you're in that age range.

But to meet women, you need to hit events where the more spiritual women are at; i went to a breathing retreat and met a couple of women that were really nice, but i had traveled out state to this location; then i went to a healing workshop and again, a lot of really mature women there. Back then i was dating already but i thought, if ever single again, i need to come to these type of events more often.

Dating apps, garbagge. Too many crazy women on there.

You should just meet someone without comparing them to your ex. Seems like you are, get over that wench and have fun a open up a little. Even if you don't have kids, you dont want to die alone do you? Don't be so damn picky.

For what its worth....

I went through the same thing when I was younger.

By the time I reached my early 40s, the drive began to subside.

By 45, it was totally gone, and I no longer felt sorrow and loss from having no children.

I really believe what you are feeling is nothing but chemistry working against your better judgement.

At 59, I thank God every day I never fathered children. This world today is very non conducive for children, and the potential for misery and great sorrow grows stronger and stronger every year for the up coming generations.

I find great peace and tranquility these days embracing the simple pleasures out of life.

Being single offers great financial
Independence. The drama factor simply does not exist in my life.

Wishing you your wish OP, but seriously contemplate my advice. marriage, children, and all other stuff society dictates you be does not always really flow as it seems.

If you outlive the biochemistry that's trying to destroy your life, you'll be rewarded with a life most men later dream about.

Same. In my 30s I felt it was my last chance for kids.

I never had any and each year I ask if I'm still happy
about because other people said I'd eventually regret it.

Hasn't happened yet in 30 years and the past two years
I'm *overjoyed* I had no kids.

Re: I’m need major life advice.
38 isn't too old. Stop looking online. Do you know what you want in a woman? Are you religious? Go to church. What do you enjoy doing for fun? Go do it. Don't do things with finding a woman in mind. Imagine what you want in a woman and go do things you enjoy. Grocery shop from 6-8 pm on weekdays. How do you want to raise children? If you live in an apartment in the city, forget it. Start situating your life so that you'll be prepared to bring a wife and children into it. Think living in a rural area, in the mountains or woods maybe. Build a small, comfortable home. Learn to work with your hands and grow/raise food. Would you vaccinate your future children? Do you want to homeschool (you should)? You need to think about these things because you don't want to end up with a woman who will be fighting your beliefs. All the threads I've seen by men who are angry that their wives are vaccinating their kids, YIKES. Figure out the wife and life you want and then start preparing for it! Let the ex go. You won't ever find a good woman pining for an ex who damaged you. Start planning and finish your degree. Hopefully you aren't going into debt for that. Good luck.
