If you pour cold water onto fatty food, the fat congeals. Same thing happens inside of us, although the temperature regulates back to normal eventually. If consuming a fatty meal (fried stuff in particular), it's best to either not drink any liquids or room temperature to warm liquids for at least an hour after eating. Give your body a chance to process the lipids without congealing them first |

The thing is, you don't have to give it up entirely. It just may be a good idea to limit your ice cold beverages to once a week or once every few weeks, etc. I do like ice cream, but I just don't eat it anymore unless I'm kind of forced to. Anyway, do what you want with this info -- it's just free. Look into it yourself if you want. |
Yardman User ID: 73160147 United States 01/13/2022 11:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In the book Little House on the Prairie, when Pa and the big little girls were threshing hay in the heat, Ma sent the littlest girl with a jug of water for them— with ginger and sugar to warm the stomach so the cook well water wouldn’t make them sick. We used to know how to eat and drink but climate control and refrigeration mess with our natural tastes. When the house is overheated you want ice cream in winter. Or a cold Coca Cola with ice. It helps you feel wakeful and normal when being warm in the dark makes you sleepy and bored. Iranians drink hot tea to cool down in summer. And to warm up in autumn. The best way to increase your liquids is to drink soup. That’s another thing we’ve forgotten but used to know— to begin a large long winter meal with a bowl of soup. Or a cup of broth. It warms the stomach so you can eat and digest. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79795231 We got a water distiller recently, it's been a blast. Plenty of crud there every time I rinse it out for a new batch. Hoping we're avoiding microplastics, stray pharmaceutical remnants, and undesired fluoride and minerals. |

Then 1 nin later, they put a hot (sometimes too hot to pick up or drink) cup of water in front of you. Was wierd at first when ur expecting and looking forward to a super cold drink to quench thirst. |

As a boy I ate at a Vietnamese restaurant very regularly and noticed something, the tea they served was divine, and I always felt energised and just "on" for days afterwards, no matter how much I stuffed myself. No cold drinks, just always with the lovely tea. So yeah. Maybe OP is right... |

Whatever you eat or drink stabilizes to your body temperature within a matter of a few minutes. "I accidentally swallowed an ice chip from my sweet tea and pooped it out hours later! Really wreaked havoc on my digestion!" \ |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80542725 United States 01/16/2022 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My wife told me many years ago that Western people make in regards to diet is that we eat way too much ice cold food and beverages. In China and Japan, that is why you rarely see people eating ice cream or drink ice cold beverages. It's well known to most Asians that ice cold beverages (especially in the cold months) is a promoter of disease of all sorts. It puts a lot of stress on your digestion. Quoting: StayCurious I personally stopped consuming ice cold drinks about 7 years ago, and I definitely noticed the difference in my energy. I'm at a point now where I cannot even drink anything unless it's room temperature or warmer. You ever meet a cool asian? Now you told us our reason why. Room temperature water is for the dogs. |
