Tigger was our feral Manx tom cat he was about 12=15# and mean as hell, he would prowl around your legs if HE wanted but you damn well better not touch.

You could tame them as kitties but after 2-3 months they never came back, we tried a lot but never got one to stick. They would usually just escape never to be seen again.

The feral cats come to my door everyday for food but I DO NOT pet them and they still maintain their distance

This one will come and rub on my legs and hiss at me

The majority of feral cats DO NOT know how to meow, that is a learned thing

So, she will hiss and that means she loves me and wants some food

Feral cats have diseases like mange and other not so nic things. They are wild and not meant to be domesticated.

I've raised one since a tiny kitten. I am the only human who can touch, come near him...

That is not a feral cat. A feral cat becomes feral by living in the wild or city.

I found the cat that lives with me when he was about 8 months old and he was definitely feral. He is a great cat but is wary of other humans.

Not necessarily. Many of them are probably healthy if they have enough food and are in a certain climate. They would probably need to be dewormed and fixed though.

Well, cats have a way of showing up and deciding you are going to be their owner.

Cats don't have owners, though they will hang around where there is food and somewhere warm to sleep. Some cats are more friendly towards humans and understand who is friendly and who isn't. Some cats are skittish / aggressive / timid however much they are cared for.

LOL! Perhaps I should have said, owner, AKA personal slave.
