Are you stupid OP? Houston definitely will get a nuke, right in the middle of all the oil/gas/chemical refining sprawl. The whole area is a major target, to cripple fuel, energy and chemical production/resources for the whole nation.

I live right outside White Sands Missile Range and Holloman AFB.....joy.

Although I've got to say, living by the missile range might work to the public's favor. Those guys know if a nuke burps somewhere on the other side of the planet.

I'm 35-40 miles north of Tampa..as long as missile is on point, and not off by 25 miles..I should survive blast and shockwaves..fallout issue will be real though.

I'd be worried if I'm outside the blast radius and have to suffer the fallout. Who the fuck would be celebrating being alive at that point? I'd rather get vaporized and feel no pain.

Russia has the largest nuclear bomb in the world with a 100 mile blast radius. fallout could be thousands of miles.

I doubt that one is carried on a sub tho.

Houston ain’t that far from Beaumont (80 miles east), home of the busiest military port besides San Diego. If that’s not enough, you’ve got Big Hill Strategic Petroleum Reserve 65 miles east of Houston. Or maybe the MOTIVA refinery in Port Arthur 70 miles east of Houston, the largest production refinery in North America.

But you’re not worried.

And Oil fields and Oil refineries.

Looks like Huston is Toast.

Bridges, Ports, Airports, Power plants, Nuclear power stations, factories which manufacture weapons or fuel, major roadways, Dams.

Those are all Standard Targets for a nuke war or any War where you are trying to destroy the manufacturing capacity.

They hit infrastructure first
so the people starve and turn on their own reducing the capacity to organize and set up new manufacturing sites.

The USA hits hospitals, Power stations, Media and communication centers and Water supplies when they do this in foreign nations. This makes the populous feel helpless as they can't even get medical attention.

Then they offer to restore services and medical services if they people side with them against their own government etc.
That was the Tactic in Libya the US forces used.

When Nuke war occurs you won't know what is happening anywhere else in the nation. All coms will be cut an nukes disrupt the ionosphere so no radio coms will work unless direct line of sight.

Most likely the US government would not tell it people Nukes are incoming.

You wouldn't know, they wouldn't tell you. You won't even get a minutes warning of you are a US citizen.
