Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78146931 The reason? Warehouses are understaffed due to Covid. This includes all orders, dairy, frozen food, produce, meat, and center store products. It's going to be a rough year. Interesting. Thanks for the Info. We’ve had more people out for this stuff in the last month than we have had in all of covid combined. 40% of the staff at one point. I work in Richmond VA |

That'll bone deliveries even more. |

Three stores, not just a 1-store issue. Yes snow is coming but I have NEVER seen it like this. The rest of the store stock is thin too. No soy sauce for weeks, for instance. No coffee filters. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80807542 Why no milk? Anyone else? no bull, that's why you need a cow. Cut out the middle man. If you don't own a cow, call Cloverland NOW. Only Me Strawberry Girl User ID: 81130680 United States 01/14/2022 09:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just had to spend $40 extra shipping to get a can of formula for my grandbaby. He has to use a specific kind because he has cerebral palsy and some other things too. Quoting: Only Me What are single moms with no help doing? I had to buy it on the enfamil website because Amazon kept saying my payment was declined. I tried two different cards and it wouldn't go through. There were only 2 cans available, so maybe they already got bought. I don't know what the problem was because I have the money in my account. 22 cents away from free shipping, not that it matters because I needed it faster than standard shipping anyway. I'm worried. I'm so fucking beside myself over this. Human babies do NOT need cow milk. Ask me why. You don't know our situation. He isn't the average healthy baby. It's not my choice what he eats. He has a team of specialists who insist this is what he needs. It's not cow milk anyway. It's one of those special kinds for toddlers with severe food allergies. He can't swallow real food yet except for thin purees and he isn't able to eat much of that. That's why he has to use formula. OMG of course it's all going to Asia. Damn it all. I hate this world. Goodbye, halcyon days... There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80807542 And I didn’t know about the baby formula. That has me worried. That would be really bad. Both DOLLAR GENERAL and $TREE also carry fresh eggs. Canned cat food has been scarce since last year, which makes me wonder what they're using all those meat by-products for! I have noticed that in the past few weeks new cans of 9-Lives cat food have been showing up but in smaller cans: they are now only 13 oz. instead of the old 15oz. and still a buck each. |

Most stores carry four different kinds -including whole milk- in qt boxes that are specifically designed for long-term storage by a Mormon Dairy out of Utah. Their milk usually has a shelf life of nearly a full year and since it's pasteurized at a higher temperature, it even lasts longer in the fridge when opened. Quoting: GSB/LTD This can expire prematurely if its stored in heat or improperly. I had some of these that were 2 months before the best by date stamped and I opened em and they were foul/stenchy. Be careful |

Be careful Sorry, I just don't believe that. According to their website, the Gossner milk is pasteurized at over 280dg. so there's no reason it would go bad sitting on a warm shelf unless you live in blast furnace. And those cartons have an internal seal that remains intact unless you twist the cap nearly all the way off. I've been using it regularly now for three years and never had a bad carton yet and my pantry is usually between 70-75 degrees year round! Remember this: nobody knows more about long-term storage and prepping than the Mormons! Last Edited by GSB/LTD on 01/14/2022 09:51 PM |

Yes it is, stores here have to keep their stocks of baby food locked up because those that will not work, steal it if it is accessible to them. There was one bag of kitteh kibble and one box of cans between the two stores Mrs. stopped to buy kitteh food at. In Arizona now, milk is like 3.50 a gallon and there's no shortages of anything at all. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6462610 Dairy is regional, always has been, probably always will be. Just a hint: MILK IS NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. It's designed to build baby cows, period. /VegetarianRantEnd The ability for adults in some populations to digest animal milk was a useful adaptation to add caloric options to the diet. I don't know man. Cheese, yogurt, kefir, butter, ice cream are tasty in moderation. Cheese wheels last forever if made and stored properly. [link to www.atlasobscura.com (secure)] That is a link about people who make cheese wheels so people have something to eat at the funeral. You could always try fermented mare's milk or goat milk if cow milk isn't your thing. That said I respect someone elses decision not to consume milk. You have to look at quality and the sugar and fat content mean adults should maybe consume in moderation. Vegan substitutes don't do it for me but you and I are free to make our own choices. I would rather starve than let my grandbaby go the slightest bit hungry. There has to be millions of babies in this situation too. Many of them don't have grandmas to help. Even I can only help so much. Spending almost $70 for ONE can of formula is unsustainable. It's unreal. I'm so sick over this. Close to panicking and I am NOT a panicker. Goodbye, halcyon days...
