Okay. this is going to be short and sweet. I'm studying sociology and for a project I decided to examine vegans. before this I was a proud member of Peta. People who Eat Tasty Animals. hmm. that is a tasty burger!!

anyways. so I adhered to a strict vegan diet. I went to a doctor before and after the 90 days. I'm a healthy person btw.

so. I go to the doctor after he took tests at the end of the 90 day period. And he told me to stop what I was doing. My immune system would start to really take a beating after that. low iron and all that stuff.

So anyways. I came to the conclusion that vegans are unhealthy people. Even if they are physically fit. Tofo isn't exactly the most edible product out there.

just my 2 cents.

back to that tasty burger...

... whilst I for sure hear ya there, I also thinks that folks who are into being vegetarians also tend to know how to adjust themselves accordingly.... have you asked any about the iron thang?

funny you mentioned that. A good friend of mine who's a vegan has a dangerously low iron count. they just found that out after a yearly checkup

... okay okay, lol, I just googled 'vegans and iron deficiency'... and this is what I found real quick...

"Dried beans and dark green leafy vegetables are especially good sources of iron, even better on a per calorie basis than meat. Iron absorption is increased markedly by eating foods containing vitamin C along with foods containing iron. Vegetarians do not have a higher incidence of iron deficiency than do meat eaters."

You didn't design a balanced diet that would give you everything you need. That applies to non-vegans and vegans, if you're not getting your vitamins and minerals you'll get sick

You can eat very clean and still have fish and chicken or turkey breast. Buffalo is also very clean and not subject to mad cow.

Knew a vegan a number of years ago who died three days into a fast. He had an iron deficiency from his diet and his heart stopped on him.
