YEp. Been heading this way since the early 2000s. Now most cars are disposable because they essentially are not worth fixing very early in their existence.

The thing about this that really gets my goat: anyone bitching about the carbon footprint of my 25 year old jeep.

The auto industry wants you in a new car every 3 to 5 years. So that's 5 cars I DID NOT buy... the metal mining, the manufacturing and fabrication, shipping and delivery, etc.

Now you explain to me how keeping and fixing one 25 year old car contributes a larger carbon footprint than buying and using 5 throwaway cars over the same time period. We are surrounded by Idiots in idiocracy, slurping up, justifying, and championing whatever toxic narrative they've spoon fed to their own death and detriment, just like with the v a x.

That's why I'm still driving a 2005 model 380000+ km VW Golf.

I can maintain it myself at one third of the cost of taking it to a shop. The spare parts are cheap and readily available, and it's fun to tinker with it.

What to me seemed even more madness, was that the owner spend that sort of money on a repair, rather than just use the on / off switch to stop the evaporator coil frosting up.

But I guess climate control is so much better than operating a switch every 10 minutes.

Screw that, Ill just buy an extended warranty. I like my 2.7l V6 cranking out 450/450. I would never want to work on it though. cant even see the engine through all the wiring harnesses.

Scotty just did a video on a Silverado I believe with a similar issue, except it was a full week's labor and a $3500 repair or something like that. I'll look for the video.

LoL, I had a e36 BMW that had this sort of same sensor go bad.....40$ part online, was right next to accelerator pedal....1 plug, 2 torx bolts....fixed in 5min. wth Ford!

Oh... and you can connect your phone to it as well. The really great part about that is when you take it in for service, they can download the what the car knows.

How long it's been running, how fast you drove it, where the car has been.... but best of all, everything your phone synced! Your calls, contacts, texts, web sites, and maybe emails too!
Your car dealer needs that information to make better cars tomorrow.

Ha, funny I found this. Just out 5:30 this morning to meet vendor at warehouse and personal vehicle 06/F150 lost power and I got to side of road. Last week I died at gas station and had jump pack and got it home both times. Not the battery or alternator. But you all are right, should next personal vehicle be even older than this? Perhaps yes!

In a restaurant they gave me an expresó machine almost new , that just quit working ,the thing is $700 on sale , it took me over a day to discover how to open it up , once opened I found a box with a fucking computer inside it , the company refused to give the owner a service manual , so to be short it was designed as a not even god can fix piece of shit

Ford/International IDI engines pretty much require glow plugs to get started if cold. Personally, I prefer the 12V Cummins.

My Son`s 2018 nissan titan had abs light come on and speedometer quit working. They denied warranty because there was a crack in the tail light that filled with water. The egc harness and frame harness had corrosion at the connector under the passenger side towards the front. They claim water went from back left tail light to connector under passenger door.
