Nobody even tried to clean the roads. And with temperatures much power. I liked those huge snow pile as a kid, digging fortresses and playing war games. |

I'm gonna bet Toronto has seen two feet of snow more than once and has come through just fine. Quoting: Satirist Been a while since this has happened. Broke a 1966 record today. Really? Huh. Ok. I remember the winter of '66. Almost every weekend we got dumped on. No school on many Mondays that year. |

I think a lot of people are dying today with heart attacks and strokes cause its the first big snowfall since people got vaccinated and people are croaking while shoveling. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68357957 ![]() 01/17/2022 03:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Toronto doesnt usually get as much snow as everywhere surrounding it. It's always been sheltered on the north side of Lake Otario. Buffalo, Niagara, Barrie or Hamilton etc. could get a foot of snow, and Turonto would only get an inch. There are also a lot of immigrants in Toronto who are not used to driving in the snow and they dont have snow tires. There are always tons of accidents even with a light dusting. I'm an hour outside of Toronto and we easily got 60cm, and every place close to the great lakes was supposed to get more. So it might have been closer to a metre or more for Toronto. 1 metre is approximately 3 feet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80708440 By the end of the day, the city and surrounding areas could get as much as 60 centimetres of snow, according to Environment Canada. For several hours this morning, Environment Canada upgraded its winter storm warning to a blizzard warning, before snowfall started to taper off around noon and the warning was downgraded. The weather agency said the storm could cause serious problems in dense urban areas. It warned of hazardous conditions with heavy snow and strong winds resulting in "widespread near-zero visibility." A CBC Toronto reporter out on the ground reported shortly after 6 a.m. that the snow's falling so fast that as soon as work crews clear it, it starts accumulating again. Gusting winds of up to 60 km/h combined with hourly snowfall of between eight and 10 centimetres during the morning could produce treacherous conditions for drivers and other commuters, Environment Canada cautioned. Yeah I bet you're right. And because of stuck cars and the snowaccumulation, ambulances can't get to people in time. |

You a cannuck? smell like one...write like one Trust me, no one uses cm's. Majority of Canadians use inches and feet for measurement. No one uses cm's or meters. 1st step of framing a house around here is converting the metric measurements to imperial |
