About 20 years ago there was a study by the army war college if I remember correctly.

In it was stated that a German soldier was equal to 4 American. The problem was that if their officers were down along with the NCO'S they were lost as they needed direction. The Americans were more flexible and innovative in dealing with situations when leaders were down and out.

The Germans also had a tight cohesiveness called gruppen spirit. A very European trait.

hmmm... I would put America's fighting force up there too though. We we were the biggest factor in Germany losing that war..we equipped Russia with all the materials needed and it was the United States military that fought much longer in that war.

Also...you forget that America's Military also fought another war against Japan... Lets not forget how notorious and strong Japan's military was...

So if you look at the big picture.... The United States had just as much grit, bravery and determination to put them at the top as well.

I heard a story from an old war vet. He was trapped with a squad in a barn, they were strategizing a way to get out stealthily when a single German came nonchalantly into their view with two of those big ass miniguns idk what they're called, no shirt, cigar in his mouth, and he blasted them all to smitherines. It was on a documentary, Idk how the vet got out maybe he was a coward.
