Washington Redskins (now called Washington Football Team) Officially change their name in 2 wks. Feb. 2nd

In 1932, an NFL team was formed called the Boston Braves. Played at Braves field that yr.

That following year in 1933, they would become the Boston Redskins into 1936. They even played their games at Fenway Park where the Boston Redsox MLB team plays.


But in 1937, they would move to Washington D.C.

They are the 6th oldest team in the NFL. Only the Cardinals, Bears, Packers, Giants & Lions are older & in that order.

They were the Redskins for 86 years, until in 2019 they were forced to change their name because of racist overtones.

So for the last 2 years, they were in limbo & without a name. Therefore, calling themselves the Washington Football Team.

Well guess what?
On Feb. 2 of 2022, they will announce their new Team football name.

It will also be announced on the Today Show.

Any guess what you think they'll be called?

There's been speculated rumors that they'll be the Admirals or Commanders for Military purposes


But the Team has led a campaign, of misdirection & mystery

Interestingly enough, their announcing the name on Groundhog Day.

So who knows?
