I recently had a dream which touched on this. I was a part of a group of soldiers fighting a war against a creature that looked like the satanic baphomet who was commanding an army of both demons and men. In the midst of this battle, some of our own troops started to have an emotional breakdown and turned against us, forcing us to kill them. It was explained to me that they were synthetic human programs with no true spirit which had been seeded within the world. In the dream, these "NPCs" were apparently the reason that this world was falling to the darkness and their presence in such numbers was a borderline violation of the cosmic law - impeding free will of the planet.
