I don't recommend much antacids, because the problem is that they cause the stomach to create more and more acid in response. The stomach wants acid production, and the more you try to stop it, the more it will screw you up. And acid reducer medications also cause malabsorption and bone problems. They also cause really poor digestion. Over the counter medications like Tums also cause acid rebound, which makes your body produce more acid in response, as mentione, and also reduce absorption of necessary minerals. If someone has reflux, it usually means that they're eating something that they shouldn't be eating, or they have a pancreatic insufficiency and require some type of enzyme, like a chewable papaya tablet. Some medications also may create an acid stomach... chemo, antibiotics, calcitriol, and others.

Start with bicarbonate of soda but not Arm & Hammer they put aluminum in there product. By a brand that is organic or not corporate if you can. Add it to water and drink it.
