Anonymous Coward User ID: 79293345 United States 01/26/2022 11:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I bet on sports mostly. Got into it last year. One of the sites offered a risk free bet (up to $1000) so I wired them the $1k and put it all on a college football game and won the bet. Turned my $1k into $2k. I've been placing bets ever since using same account. Not much money..$100 or $200 bets per game once a week or so. Account got as low as $425 and as high as $4000 between then. It's currently at $3k now so I'm still playing with house money. Sports betting can be really dangerous though..actually soul sucking. If you win you don't care much but when you lose, especially by a point, it can place you in a dark corner. |

In a day? $600 I guess. Overall? I dunno, $20-30k? Quoting: ProfessorDweeb 48829227 Apparently I love losing because I can Win win win!!!!! But I won’t leave until I am out of money. yea this happens to most people. know when to stop a friend and i once went to the casino and on his first roulette spin he made 2k. (we were like 20 and took 100$ each there) we literally left right after, after about 5 minutes there and went to a club to enjoy lol other people i know would use the 2k to place more expensive bets hoping to do it again and again. |

Yes I have gambled, but not as much with money as it has been with life. Hard to answer questions that were never asked. A Gamble in it's very structure is a bit subjective, and only defined by bias and self worth. Who wins...the dealer. The house always wins. Watdhel User ID: 78913628 United States 01/26/2022 12:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My Dad was a general contractor who loved to gamble. I remember as a child, walking into a casino hotel entrance, right beside the casino, & thinking it was obvious most people lost money or they couldn't build elaborate places like this. I walked in w/ my Dad once to pay off a marker at a Shreveport casino. He pulled over 20k out of his pocket & gave it to them. I stood there w/ the HoLeeFuk look on my face as he counted out the cash. As we walked back to the car I quietly said to him "Hope you had fun" & he just growled back "not that much fun". He was cured of the gambling fever for about 1.5 months. |

I don't gamble not even the lottery but i think it's okay if it's for fun once a month or so but many will keep chasing that first win right into bankruptcy and it will ruin many lives in the future, i have seen it happen way too many times already! And now you can lose everything without leaving your Sofa, this will not end well! We have had the WV state lottery video machines in the local VFW for years and i have seen many go flat broke playing those evil machines, those that hit big will head right back in and lose it back before the night is over. they have a ATM machine 15 feet from the Gambling room and it stays busy too! would rather have it & not need it then need it & not have it |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72411668 United States 01/26/2022 01:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For years I would play craps (occasionally Black Jack) on payday. I had a 40 dollar rule--win forty and leave or lose 40 and leave. Over about 5 years I was thousands ahead--then I got greedy. I knew the ins and outs of craps--I was good, so why could I not just get rich playing? LOL If you play long enough the house will win--every time no matter how good you are. I played for about 20 years (lived in Las Vegas). I enjoyed the thrill and generally came out about even. Slowly, I lost interest and only gambled when my wife wanted to go out )a few times a year). No matter how well I did at the craps table I would leave a loser as the wife would keep coming over to the table to rob me of a few hundred bucks. Eventually, the fun part of the thrill was gone. The thrill was replaced with apprehension on every throw of the dice. Even going to a club to cash my paycheck became more of a chore rather than some small pleasure of getting a couple of free drinks and a few bucks to throw away. It became boring. Over the last 20 years, I may not have gambled 40 bucks--playing keno while waiting for a meal in a restaurant. Gambling should be viewed as a recreation--not a way to make money. If it becomes a vice it can become as destructive as using herorine. Casinos do not engage in gambling, those engage in gaming. The house will win in the end. |

Quoting: WokWook Hasn't lost yet in current configuration, runs 24/7, makes on average about $0.05 per hour. During dev lost about $500 fixing bugs and refining strategy. Caught up and in the green now. We'll see. why only 5 cent per hour? it its a guaranteed win, cant you start gambling more money? i used to do the roulette machine thing where you always +1 dollar etc. till they put a maximum on the bets and it was no longer possible lol It's small risk, small gain. With about $1,200 in capital, can do the 5 cents/hour. Double that and it goes to 10¢ etc. Should double about every 2 years lol. May add more to boost it along at some point, letting it run a while to make sure no more issues. As it wins, it risks more and earns more. https://imgur.com/a/371FT9b Last Edited by WokWook on 01/26/2022 01:22 PM |

Jenny222 (OP) User ID: 78124659 Canada 01/26/2022 01:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Casinos are so rigged and currently, they have “hired gamblers” that are given money to play the games to win the jackpots, that are then given back to the org. This keeps their payouts in line with published data. They configure the machines to payout when these hired gamblers are there...... certain days and times. They step in, hit the jackpots, get paid out. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76696000 If you gamble, you are being played. Big time. Especially evident in the high stakes rooms for bigger payouts.
