Does Anyone Else Feel A Strong Desire to Just Sell All Your Stuff?

I/we just give stuff away. Outgrown clothes, unused art/craft supplies, anything replaced. I don't bother selling. Nobody has money and yet nobody wants anything in less than new condition, including me, for many things. Selling is a headache. The only thing I sell is the art I create.

In my youth, I lived out of 2 duffle bags.....they held my entire material world.....pretty much lived that way until my 30's when I planted roots.....now at 60 I'm making my last move to my retirement property.....between 30 and 60, I accumulated shit tons of shit.....lol.....


So I been gradually giving away or selling off my stuff.....but I'm not going to beat myself up about it....the majority of my stuff is workshop related in the form of tools and machinery....I'm maintaining a workshop until I die.....

The wife's beanie baby collection ain't making the cut tho.....lol...

Same here. The wife loves every piece of the thousands of items she has bought - much more than any living thing. And I'd be ready to burn everything, I don't give a crap about it.

The accumulation of things doesn't make one happy. In fact, it become a bourden.

I don't feel I need to get rid of stuff, but i have had the strongest feeling that I need to move somewhere more rural with enough land to become self sufficient, preferably with a reliable water source.

However, I do agree that we have too much useless junk. Until recently that has been the American way: buy, buy, buy, consume...

Right now I am only interested in things that could aid my survival.

I literally want to live in a camper-van. Just have a few things, no debt, live simply, go wherever I want, stay as long as I want. I can work remotely and would only need to work part of the year.

I don't know that it would. It's gotten to the point that I cannot have a conversation with my wife about anything serious without her blowing up and yelling at me/freaking out. If I have any concern about anything I'm "being mean."

A house full of clutter can affect one's mood and productivity.

I am a woman, I am not a compulsive buyer, and I hate clutter, but my house has become clutter with my craft supplies. I have way more that I would use probably in my lifetime.

But I am a loner, my artwork and hobbies is all I have for distraction.

I have had also lately the overwhelming feeling to sell everything, but cannot seem to do it.
