Landlords: have you ever knowingly rented a property that had evil entities, demons or ghosts?

We knowingly sold a house that had a ghost. It wasn't evil, though. Just some nice old Hispanic dude.

Did you tell them before they bought it? Did you sell it BECAUSE of the ghost?

Did you feel guilty if you didn't tell them. What were some of your interactions with it??

That applies to most of my existing and new tenants.

Nope and nope. We moved because we were transferred.

Nothing to feel guilty about with regards to the next buyer because it never caused us any issues, so why would it cause them problems?

Just little things mostly. We had a big yard light with the switch in the garage. We would turn it off and then it would turn back on. This would go on several times a day, sometimes. It kept changing our radio stations to the Spanish station. We would be listening to country and then all the sudden realize we were listening to Spanish music - again. My son had the most interactions and said he was an old man and spoke a foreign language. We just pieced it together that he was Hispanic from the radio station. He liked it when my son played the piano. He pretty much ignored my daughter, though.

My (now ex) walked into his office once and there he was, sitting at his fly-tying desk, looking at all of his materials. I saw him just once, when I had fallen asleep in the basement (that's where we normally saw him) and I woke up and he was floating across the room - only the top half had any real shape, though.

We knew we had a hidden room in the basement and the people who lived there before us had laughed when we inquired about it and told us it was where they "hid the dead bodies." Well, we didn't need the room as it was a large home, and we didn't bother to cut into the wall to open it up and check it out - so who knows? But whenever I would go into the storage room adjacent to it (where the kids' toys were stored) to clean up, it would be more active for a while. Then, it would settle some and we wouldn't have any incidents for a couple of months. IDK, the people who lived there after us didn't stay but a few months, so maybe he wasn't so benevolent with them?

I seriously think that neighborhood was cursed (it was a rural neighborhood) and we were one of the few families that tragedy did not strike. So, perhaps he was our protector? We were only the second owners of that home and it was only about 10 years old when we moved in, so I really cannot see how there could be a ghost, you know? But when 3/4 of us interacted with it, well, what can you say?

I had one, it was a probate sale, woman died in house. I advertised the rental as haunted and got TWICE the normal rent. then sold it to the tenant...

we have a 12 acre plot with 3 rentals on it.. no ghosts, HOWEVER, the old man who's family sold us the land, is buried somewhere on the property apparently... we dont know where.


there is actually scary stuff out there though.. it's 8 miles outside of a small rural, down a farm market road, and then down a county road... secluded.. the next houses over are half a mile a way..


i've seen big cats (mountain lion), wild hogs, etc..


there might be a sasquatch.

I did have a rental once that the tenants were positive was haunted. It was a really old house built in in 1890’s. I sold it soon after.

Rented a trailer with an added on living room. Noticed it had a huge concrete slab in the back. Did not think much of it.

Husband worked away. Week on week off.

When we first went to walk through to rent I swore there were children hiding in the closets or underneath. Could hear distinct voices. Two little kids giggling.

Moved in. First week heard bumps in the hallway. Thought it was air conditioning.

Husband leaves. The Friday he was coming home I heard crunching of the gravel and someone on the steps. Opened the door. Steps across the kitchen floor. Presumed it was him. Except. The footsteps would come down the hall and stop.

Happened a few times. Same noise. Told him about the sounds. He thought I was nuts.

Until.
One night we had just got in bed and HE heard someone outside. On the steps. Closed the door. In the kitchen. Coming down the hall.

He reaches for a gun in the dresser. Aiming it down the hall.
What the hell was that? Now he believes.

Tell real estate agent.
Tell neighbor. She says there used to be a house there and two children died in the fire. That would account for the huge slab.

Two years later I am at a house close by talking to a friend. I point to the woods near the house. She says she used to live there. I asked if she noticed anything unusual. She says it was haunted. Described exactly same noises.

Believe. Don’t believe. You asked.

No, but I just sold my late mothers home in England to a family who never asked. About 18 months ago, we had to have it exorcised to get her out.

Houses arent like an electric fence for puppies...

In fact, as I was reading your story, the entity were I am now started shaking my bed. Again. I had to pause to take care of it. (Forcefully ordered it out.) It worked. Nothing worked before until I found out it was an entity. Don't know what plane it comes from but if I whip out the expletives, they/it are gone fast, LOL! (I'm scarier than they!)

I believe most states have laws that say property owners must inform potential buyers of any supernatural activity that has taken place.

If they don't mention it, and it is found out later the owner's withheld the information they can be held liable.

Highly doubt it: no one in gov. believes in this. Wouldn't hold water in a court of law SFAIk.

Went to an estate sale.
Wanted to buy some jewelry.
When I got there the daughter said her mother had died snd it was her house.

Yes. That was her name.

I said. Well. She just told me to get out. And I am.

She laughed snd said....that is exactly what she would have said.

Y’all don’t believe that they live on. But they do. It takes a little bit for them to really cross over especially if it was sudden.

I don’t know how I know. It has always felt normal and peaceful to me. It’s just a continuation.

I just don't know. I had my encounters with the paranormal but I have no idea what it was. For me, who's to say it was ghosts, "dead people"? Could have been beings from another dimension and/or so much more...!

But of course, for you, it makes sense it would be a ghost. I don't disbelieve. I don't want to "believe", I'd like to know the truth. Your experiences all help. Thank you.

Katherine had not been dead very long.
That matters.
Some don’t want to go. The fact that it was a room she spent a lot of time in matters. With all her books and all her paintings. All her personal stuff.

She would be very attached to that and present.

When I stepped over the threshold of the doorway and looked down into her boxes of art books I smelled very strong old Avon perfume and I heard her say extremely clearly GET OUT and instantly felt the nsme Kathryn.

I immediately stepped out of the room because it was very heavy.

I would not think her daughter heard. It hits me like a loud sound would vibrate off your chest.

I have dealt with the dead for many years. It’s not exciting. It’s actually just sad.

So your question was posed to landlords. I’m pretty sure they don’t care if the place is haunted. 95 percent of the time they just want their rent. Plus they don’t believe in hauntings or ghosts.

I have heard that people have a choice to cross over or to stay. But I really don't know where people get these things, since none of us have, obviously, never died before, so I take it with a grain of salt, and try to keep an open mind about it.

Yes, about landlords: I wanted to see if some of them have scruples and if they've changed their minds on a haunting, if they went as a skeptic, to see what the tenant was talking about, and left after a sighting, etc.

Just fascinating to me.

Tenant/renter here:

Landlord totally dumped on us after we all but moved in(gave security deposit and signed lease), "might want to burn sage, you think that tree outside looks evil", type stuff.

A year after being here, delivery(oil/coal and etc) were shocked we were still living here.

That said, when we began to move in(moved in some stuff and had the animals in the house night before full move in), night before I stayed overnight.

Woke up in the middle of the night, and just felt something staring at me outside the doorway to my bedroom. Without even looking just closed the door and went back to sleep.

Next few nights, went to sleep with youtube Matthew KJV playing.

Cat kept getting into battles with something not there(would end up running away with his hair poofed up; something that only happens when he is incredibly angry). Caught some weird looking demonic faces on camera. My parent probably annoyed the shit out of the demon because she likes to listen to sermons on youtube.

Couple times when I was bitter towards God had bad dreams of something pacing along the side of my bed, incredibly frustrated that it could get near me. I think my cat was in my closet giving the demon an incredibly nasty hiss to scare it away.

Then eventually had a dream with an almost grey looking alien creature with a long nose(but almost normal eyes), and I chased it out in the same way one would guide an annoying wild animal, bat/bird, out of the house.

During that time I was drawn closer to God and God led me down an odd path for some reason, in terms of my personnel development.

Cat stopped acting like it was fighting something invisible, and the annoying, almost sinister, albeit in a highly pathetic way, went away.

Cheap rent though(close to 25% below market cost). Would definitely rent or buy a haunted house in the future.

Also, "haunted" encompasses a lot! Next time could not a ghost, not a peaceful ghost. Entities, shadow people etc.

I'm not a land-lord, but I once rented (with option to buy) a house that someone was murdered in ... and left an evil spirit behind ... we didn't stay long - it was very "uncomfortable" - and yes the Landlord knew, so did the rental agent - and all the neighbors - but they didn't say a word - til after we moved out ... fuckers
