I'm for defunding the local police. Local police are a scam to take the power and money from the people. Who chooses who becomes a police officer or a police captain? Who hires and fires the police?

Our taxes would be better spent on County sheriffs who are elected by the community they serve. Policing power needs to go back to elected County sheriffs, and elected sheriffs should appoint, hire and fire deputies. If we don't like what they're doing we can vote them out.
