I worked 40 years in ER, have seen blood that varied from pinkish red, to all shades of red to very near black_—-have never seen orange or green blood.
Quoting: MarPep It really surprised me. I was expecting her to say something about thick blood, or clotting….. not discoloration. This was new info to me. They’re very thorough about screening donors to try and keep the blood donations as clean as possible, and they also test all blood for many things people may not disclose during screening. Those donors are contacted by the Red Cross and blacklisted from donating in the future, and the blood is discarded. So when she said they’re seeing a lot more “bright colored” blood, even orange and green, I was baffled. She had no explanation. I researched it and found that infections and medications can cause that, but considering they heavily screen all donors before the blood drawing, AND the discolored blood is a recent development they’re seeing a lot of, the only explanation I can think of is the Covid-19 vaccine. .
