BS OP! I'm in my 50's and can honestly say being short has never been an issue. You can be a leader and have a type A personality without being tall.

Even when I was a kid I was a leader. Simple things I can see looking back as I was always out front on my Bicycle, the neighborhood kids were always following me, and then my Harley, a group of 20 and I'm the one out front, same with life, I was always the one out front. Not bragging but I always had a great looking girl friend, then my wife.

I think if you are a leader people look up to you and no it's not money it's how one thinks of himself / herself.

As just one example, take the late Great Ronnie James Dio, He was 5'4" but was as tall as a giant on stage!

It's how you look at yourself in the mirror, I don't even notice my hight and never have.

Height has nothing to do with dating success. The average female is 5'4. So you can date more than 1/2 the female population and be taller. And some women will date shorter men.

You say you are not blaming society, that instead you are blaming your parents "bad genes", yet it's because of these "bad genes" that you are "not tall enough" to satisfy our stupid shallow vain society.

You can't say you are not confused, when you contradict yourself within two sentences and didn't notice. But society is what is confused, and this is the result.

They've done studies that proved that women only want a man who is 2-3 inches taller. So yes, "taller is desired", but any more than 3 or 4 inches and it gets awkward. It's not just a fairy-tale that we all want the one that "feels just right". Which means very short women only want someone who is shorter than you, and you might be too tall for some of them.

Society is just completely warped. These are all assumptions that don't apply to every situation. Of course this doesn't make sense, it was never logical to begin with. I don't know who's to blame for all that, but you can definitely blame society's attitude and our culture's values for problems like this, because many guys who are "too short" have proven that it's not a disabling flaw caused by biological chance. Plenty of shorter men choose not to see it this way. Life is a struggle for everyone.

Nobody chooses genes, and for all you know, you could have had a different set of genes from the same exact source.

No one can change their genes, but we can convince society to change their stupid beliefs about height.

What can also be changed is all the shitty responses to a post like this, which are just ugly Shadow Projections that tell a lot more about the people crapping out the insults that say nothing accurate about the OP.

But society won't change on this subject if everybody keeps buying in to this delusion that "height makes might" and "might makes right".

If everyone was aware of how we subconsciously interpret these things, we would counteract any natural instinctive tendency to behave differently. It's not as if a total stranger who is taller than you is definitely older than you, nor are they automatically some kind of authority figure.

We only feel that way because every creature recognizes there is usually a connection between size and age, and we make assumptions about that for our survival. Part of us knows that a much larger human is more of a threat, but in a truly civilized society, no one is a threat, so this instinctive feeling is obsolete.

Society gave you permission to put all the blame on this one trait, which makes you pessimistic about everything and everyone. And pessimism isn't something people want to have to absorb from other people, so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What you are seeing is mostly just confirmation bias, because men who are shorter than you don't always have this problem. They just ignore our society's stupid beliefs. Society programmed us to worry about and focus on the most vain and trivial things.

I've known short guys to be some of the funniest and most lovable people, and they don't look at their height as a detriment. Any tall guy with no sense of humor is envious of them, because laughter is far more attractive to women. And many tall guys see their height as a huge inconvenience, and are genuinely jealous of shorter guys. It's all relative. We always want what we can't have.

Women are not typically as vain about a man's looks as men are, and this is just a projection of male thinking. You would never know what a woman would have thought about you if you were taller, and it very well could have been the same exact result. They just made you think that you should filter everything through this one idea.

And if a woman is that so shallow as to reject a shorter guy, that is not the type you want to deal with anyway. You are mostly only missing out on shallow drama, and instead you've got freedoms that many "lucky guys" are jealous of.

If it seems like every guy with a hot woman is perfectly happy, just remember how artificial our Fakebook society really is. You don't see all the drama that these trophy-wife husbands have to put up with. They will probably deal with any drama for the bragging rights.

The main thing our society needs to learn isn't even vanity, it's the fact that all forms of suffering are caused by trying to fill a bottomless void. True happiness is not possible, but our culture has been convinced that we can buy it or marry it.

The main thing about attraction is that women only care about Love, and everything else is secondary. It's not an exaggeration that Love is blind. When a woman knows a man is focused entirely on her, and he would never choose to leave, then she is truly in Love. Real Love is as far from vain as possible. Because whatever "flaws" a man has literally become the traits that she loves most.
