Yup, more vulnerable to artillery/air...but also provides overlapping fields of fire, quick deployment and fast movement. Different tactics for different situation. That Russia is confident enough to move in this kind of formation, knowing they'd be spotted (and likely were well before the release of this clip by satellite) says a lot Yeah, ok bud.
