It is incredibly infrastructure depending. See it as "third party risk": Your bitcoins can become useless if someone else's stuff stops working, or stops being profitable. So whatever safety it may give you is limited. Gold is the ultimate safe haven simply because it doesn't need anything or anyone to work. |

Same with banks and credit cards though And in a world without btc or banks gold is only worth so much, and you'd have to defend it with bullets if it's actually worth anything as you wouldn't have the police to call for help |
