I don't know about that other old Putin, but this guy in power now in Russia, is definitely a very calculating cold blooded leader. Not saying he's a good moral guy or agree with him on certain moves, especially his biased attitude in the Balkans, but he's got some chutzpah.

That said, it is reasonable for Ukraine or other western countries to listen and adjust accordingly to Russia's requests.
