Twelve o'clock is when the sun is at the highest point in the sky, by definition.

But for practical reasons, we invented timezones, so that some people will have a clock set correctly, some up to 30 minutes early and some up to 30 minutes late. This is a compromise that keeps us from having to reset our clocks every time we move a couple of miles East or West.

Then retarded politicians forced everyone to set the clock an hour wrong during the summer. This means the clocks were now anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes wrong, with no-one having the correct time based on the position in the sky.

This idiocy sucked, but at least we got a respite in the winter time, when the clock was set back right again.

But now the retarded politicians decide the clock should ALWAYS be set wrong, fuck the sun, fuck what's natural, FUCK GOD! Just so they can feel that they are in charge and enjoy seeing the people dance by their pipe.

It's disgusting.

And it's even more disgusting to see brainwashed idiots who come here on GLP to defend it.

Time zone divisions should follow lines of longitude closely.
Then sun time is "correct".
Instead, we have zones of VERY political fiddling in the past.

Good example is Eastern US time zone.
Should be bounded on west by Mississippi River. Should be bounded on east WITHOUT including Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

But politics/BUSINESS wants to "help".

So they "pull" the zone east and run a crazy line through Indiana, leaving Chicago with a very large offset from sun time, about one hour "off" with lots of daylight in the morning rather than balanced.

Noon in Chicago, the sun is at 1PM position.
Permanent DST would simply correct a long-standing problem.

If some are honked off, well, fine.
Now THEY can enjoy the same disadvantage/inconvenience that was shifted onto others long ago.

If you don't like it, clamor for time zone divisions that MUST FOLLOW STRAIGHT N-S lines of longitude within 75 miles.

NO MORE ZONES 800 MILES WIDE.
THIS MEANS YOU, NEW ENGLAND and NYC.
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON TWO ZONES, with NYC and the 5 New England states one hour ahead of New York state.

I don't care how much you don't like it or how many problems it causes.

Lump it.

I hope the politically "favored" will now enjoy wearing the shoe on the other foot, or they can push for time zone divisions that aren't politically motivated.

I agree. New England definitely should be on Atlantic time. The reason Maine is not is because of Massachusetts. The reason Boston is not is because of New York.

But it is stupid and unhealthy. It's also why we get up so early here.

This. Local solar noon here in central Indiana is nominally around 12:45 in standard time, so we are way west of where the zone line should have been drawn. Going on DST just makes it worse.

I've lived on DST for years. I never change my cocks to standard time since I want the light late in the day. Crime is also lower on DST.

The senate did one thing right so far. Now let's see if the house and that idiot in the White house can do the same.

For me daylight savings time is preferable. I am up early and go to bed early. The animals are on the same time. Early to bed,
