The irony is you can’t own land in Mexico. You can only lease it from the government.
Then again, in the U.S., private property comes with property taxes, so is it really owned by the individual’s name on the deed?

Miss a couple of tax payments and you can kiss that shit goodbye anyways.  You’re wrong. You need to have a Mexican National sign for you. I’m only speaking of this because I own land there. No, because all is required is a fideicomiso now and a Notario Público as well as a shit ton of paperwork. After the closing you will get the escritura. The fideicomiso is good for 50 years and it must be renewed by the owner or the owners heir.
