Elon Musk purchases 9% of Twitter. They want to tell you that he's the largest shareholder of the company. That may be technically true, but let's dig in a little deeper.

The top 4 largest shareholders on Twitter are all Blackrock/vanguard/ state street and Morgan Stanley. They own a combined total of around 30% of Twitter.

BR/Vanguard are also controlling interest of MS and SS, effectively making it a monopoly that dwarfs Elon's 9%. With this announcement, Twitter goes up a record 27% in one day.

To make this even more interesting, BR//Van are majority owners of Tesla. Elon essentially gave his bosses at Tesla a quick extra 27% profit increase in their 30% controlling stake. Pretty clever marketing if I say so myself. Jim Good
