Actually, global temp trends do show cooling over heating

What you perceive as heat waves are in fact happening, even though the temps are cooler

The planets magnetic field is very weak, and in fact fixing to flip polarity. We therefore receive much greater UV and IR radiation, which explains the perception of a “ heat wave”. Previously, UVC and very little UVB reached ground level

Not now

I've lived in the southern Sonoran Arizona desert for over 50 years now - you can trust me when I say I know hot.

Our summertime thunderstorm season used to officially start with 3 consecutive 55 degree dew point days. We'd rarely get much over 60.

The people in Texas, Louisiana and north a bit have been experiencing near or at triple-digits with dew points over 70.

That's hot regardless of what's happening with Earth's magnetic field.

Minneapolis/St Paul just got blasted with wide thunderstorms.

Severe weather outbreak well underway in Minnesota. Active tornado warning south of Mankato. High Pressure system has stalled over MO and so. IL.

Extremely high winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes will all be possible into Thursday evening. The threats began Wednesday night, with tornado sirens heard in locations such as Target Field, home to Major League Baseball's Minnesota Twins.

"An unusually early and strong surge in heat and humidity over the Central states will be a major factor in severe weather for the balance of this week and especially through Thursday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said, adding, "In many cases, the pattern and behavior of severe weather over the North Central states this week will be more typical of July, rather than early May."

Welcome to solar cycles. Can you say Grand Solar Minimum? How about Meridional Jet-Stream flow?

And there you've hit upon it. I have maintained for years that if the Earth temperature has risen, it is in direct correlation to the amount of black asphalt paving that has covered vast swatches. Yet, where I am, we are experiencing the coolest Spring in my life. I live in the deep South where you can expect heat waves in February at times that send people to the garden center buying plants because it gives them spring fever. But, of course, that's too early and we get a killing frost shortly thereafter.

This year is the latest when we haven't hit 90 and high 80s every day and I know as I worked as in landscaping for many years. Next week we will have our first full week in the 90s.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62898896

^This.

And beyond the mini ice age which was a few 100 years ago, if you went back 100,000 years (which is a tiny amount of time on a planet that is 5,000,000,000 years old) there would have been 100 feet of ice and snow over most of the United States of America all year long, every year.

This is the Holocene Epoch and we are in an interglacial period.

The odds are overwhelming in favor of glaciation returning at some point in the next 10,000 years.

Where I live in urban southern AZ we have a summertime 'heat island' effect that limits the amount of thunderstorms in July, August and September that used to come in the 70's and 80's much more regularly.

That said people living in this environment deserve to know what the temperature is in their concrete jungle.

As for global average temperatures, it can be challenging for sure.

Over the past 140 years, we’ve literally gone from making some temperature measurements by hand to using sophisticated satellite technology. Today’s temperature data come from many sources, including more than 32,000 land weather stations, weather balloons, radar, ships and buoys, satellites, and volunteer weather watchers.

To account for all of these changes and ensure a consistent, accurate record of our planet’s temperature variations, scientists use information from many sources to make adjustments before incorporating and absorbing temperature data into analyses of regional or global surface temperatures. This allows them to make “apples to apples” comparisons.

It's best to get data from those with the best technology available imo.

If the ancients are correct, which I believe they are, then it comes in about 50 years - but not before the planet gets hotter, much hotter.

Concerning North American ice sheets, it wasn't that long ago that glaciers expanded and retreated <50,000 years expansion to retreat starting about 15,000 years ago.

The ancients built megalithic 'earthen' mounds east of the 100th meridian for this reason.
Glaciers create a water layer between the ice sheet and earth allowing them to glide over the earthen mounds.

That's very clever, ingeniously so and why the ancients knew more about our planet than we do now including our ice cycles which are more frequent than scientists know due to our solar micro-nova cycle.

But the scorching heat comes in the run-up to the next ice expansion.

More of the same today with large hail and tornadoes likely in a region south of Fargo.

More super cells are expected in a larger region of the upper Midwest/northern plains.

Shrinking atmosphere, due to magnetic loss, is causing larger and quicker energy transsions on the globe.

Storms are pulling more hot air north and more cold air south as the olanet tries to equal out the energy differences

As the shield fails, extra radiation does heat certain parts. But the fail mag field allows more cool air in.

We are in an inflection point of time and its hard to tell whats happening.

Bit it aint plant food

We as a planet are co2 starved. A full liveable earth should be around 1000 ppm

The food and life would flourish everywhere.

They hate life and attack co2 because it brings a larger population

Some say the earth knew it was losing co2 and create man to pull co2 from the ground ans revive the planet

Last ice age alomost killed off everything because co2 dropped too low. At 200 ppm everything strats to die

I have a hypothesis about CO2. They are capturing it and stealing it for their underground communities. They can easily power grow lights with small nukes, but they need CO2 to grow their vegetables. Carbon capture facilities are starting up to "pump it underground". To them!

Earth cataclysm is coming in a few years, not only a polar shift but a rotational shift. Thread a couple days ago on this. The world's richest man Elon Musk bores their tunnels and probes conditions in outer space to see how it's coming along, he even makes the underground vehicles they'll drive and batteries that will be very convenient for them to have.
Who knows how many batteries from his "gigafactories" fall thru the floor into underground facilities.

Trump's small-nuke initiative (which he mentioned once publicly and never again) and Gates are building small safe nukes. We don't get any here on the surface. All for them. Plenty of CO2 for them to grow food. Nitrox-like atmosphere (SCUBA divers know what this is), very pleasant.

The sea level is rising a little bit, right? Just a few fractions of an inch. As they bore out an area underground, they have to put the waste somewhere that won't be noticed. The sea floor would be perfect.

When the poles shift, we will lose the magnetic shield, and more of the suns energy will reach the earth.

It is about to get really hot here on earth.

Another ancient in-play factor is that like many of the ancient monuments now re-aligning to solstice sun, which moves along the horizon over vast time-lengths, unlike the fixed equinox sun, so too have many monuments returned to specific sea-levels. In other words, they encoded specific numbers that tie to our solar micro-nova cycle - the over-riding factor in our solar system's climate changes.

Again, this is specific advanced knowledge and engineering on our planet that the ancients did a long time ago. The cycle within the bigger cycle is predictive that way.

How awesome is that!!?

The encoded number was discovered in the monuments. Check Angkor Wat's geocoordinates. 8 is the imperial equivalent of 13. Now check Machu Picchu's elevation. It's used globally in various other ways also.

It is the study of several things that leads to a later date but not significantly different given the length of the cycle.

Oh come on! Minnesota has had tornadoes and storm chasers forever. That is nothing new. It's not 'global warming'. It's fucking Minnesota weather!

Re: You say the planet is cooling but year after year we get terrible heat-waves. Next one set on the NE. P4
Friday the 13th

And a helluva week it's been..

..pesky coastal low, record-smashing heat, fierce thunderstorms and destructive wildfires.

The thunderstorms have been tracking south to north all week blocked from moving west to east by that pesky coastal low. Today they finally ease up but continue northward into Canada with lingering effects like flash-flooding in OK.

Yesterday was epic for high winds with 55 significant (75 mph+) preliminary wind gust reports.
That's number 2 on the list and one of the top 4 in just the last 2 years.

The entire month of April was 4.1C below average. That's the entire US.

Caribou Maine reached 89 F yesterday. The previous high temperature record was 78 F for May 12.
Today Caribou is forecasted to be 90.

Most high temperature records today will fall in the upper Midwest, northern Plains and Great Lake states.
