I've lived in the southern Sonoran Arizona desert for over 50 years now - you can trust me when I say I know hot.

Our summertime thunderstorm season used to officially start with 3 consecutive 55 degree dew point days. We'd rarely get much over 60.

The people in Texas, Louisiana and north a bit have been experiencing near or at triple-digits with dew points over 70.

That's hot regardless of what's happening with Earth's magnetic field.

And there you've hit upon it. I have maintained for years that if the Earth temperature has risen, it is in direct correlation to the amount of black asphalt paving that has covered vast swatches. Yet, where I am, we are experiencing the coolest Spring in my life. I live in the deep South where you can expect heat waves in February at times that send people to the garden center buying plants because it gives them spring fever. But, of course, that's too early and we get a killing frost shortly thereafter.

This year is the latest when we haven't hit 90 and high 80s every day and I know as I worked as in landscaping for many years. Next week we will have our first full week in the 90s.

This is the Holocene Epoch and we are in an interglacial period.

The odds are overwhelming in favor of glaciation returning at some point in the next 10,000 years.

Where I live in urban southern AZ we have a summertime 'heat island' effect that limits the amount of thunderstorms in July, August and September that used to come in the 70's and 80's much more regularly.

That said people living in this environment deserve to know what the temperature is in their concrete jungle.

It's best to get data from those with the best technology available imo.

If the ancients are correct, which I believe they are, then it comes in about 50 years - but not before the planet gets hotter, much hotter.

Concerning North American ice sheets, it wasn't that long ago that glaciers expanded and retreated <50,000 years expansion to retreat starting about 15,000 years ago.

The ancients built megalithic 'earthen' mounds east of the 100th meridian for this reason.
Glaciers create a water layer between the ice sheet and earth allowing them to glide over the earthen mounds.

That's very clever, ingeniously so and why the ancients knew more about our planet than we do now including our ice cycles which are more frequent than scientists know due to our solar micro-nova cycle.

But the scorching heat comes in the run-up to the next ice expansion.

Hurricane force winds last night in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

More of the same today with large hail and tornadoes likely in a region south of Fargo.

More super cells are expected in a larger region of the upper Midwest/northern plains.

Wow. I lived in the Phoenix area for a few years so I know what you're talking about. To prove it's personal experience: above 110F is hot no matter how dry it is, but 105F can be OK. I've driven in that with the heater on in my car, to keep the engine temp down.

A dew point of 70F in Louisiana!? That's swamp and alligator country. I love it. But what's it like now?

I have a hypothesis about CO2. They are capturing it and stealing it for their underground communities. They can easily power grow lights with small nukes, but they need CO2 to grow their vegetables. Carbon capture facilities are starting up to "pump it underground". To them!

Earth cataclysm is coming in a few years, not only a polar shift but a rotational shift. Thread a couple days ago on this. The world's richest man Elon Musk bores their tunnels and probes conditions in outer space to see how it's coming along, he even makes the underground vehicles they'll drive and batteries that will be very convenient for them to have.
Who knows how many batteries from his "gigafactories" fall thru the floor into underground facilities.

The sea level is rising a little bit, right? Just a few fractions of an inch. As they bore out an area underground, they have to put the waste somewhere that won't be noticed. The sea floor would be perfect.

When the poles shift, we will lose the magnetic shield, and more of the suns energy will reach the earth.

Friday the 13th

And a helluva week it's been..

..pesky coastal low, record-smashing heat, fierce thunderstorms and destructive wildfires.

The thunderstorms have been tracking south to north all week blocked from moving west to east by that pesky coastal low. Today they finally ease up but continue northward into Canada with lingering effects like flash-flooding in OK.

Yesterday was epic for high winds with 55 significant (75 mph+) preliminary wind gust reports.
That's number 2 on the list and one of the top 4 in just the last 2 years.

The entire month of April was 4.1C below average. That's the entire US.

Caribou Maine reached 89 F yesterday. The previous high temperature record was 78 F for May 12.
Today Caribou is forecasted to be 90.

Most high temperature records today will fall in the upper Midwest, northern Plains and Great Lake states.
