"It'll be like nothing ever happened" Kwon stated, claiming that he was inspired by Vitalik Buterin's decision to roll back the Ethereum chain after the DAO hack in 2016. "If it's good enough for Ethereum, it's good enough for Luna." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76655722 except that something did happen. they can't just "roll it back", hundreds perhaps thousands of people bought billions of coins. what is their reimbusement? . |

Terra Validators have halted the network to come up with a plan to reconstitute it. More updates to come. even in blockchain, they could issue a set of transactions that effectively roll it back. but there's a lot of legal and reputational issues. I smell desperation. . |

The Blockchain restarts growing at that block# and the portion that was cut away is now 100% worthless. |

The problem is that many of the trades were not on the blockchain. They were contracts on leverage. All the shorter made money on contracts and they have their money. You can't roll back contracts on individual exchanges. For this to happen? Exchanges would be the ones footing the bill. And they would go under. Which would cascade lots of issues. It would be bitconnect on steroids. Thousands upon thousands of btc would be sold to cover losses. Everyone would lose. Bitcoin would crash lower than anyone expects. The ultimate black swan event. |

The Exchanges could "Front-Run" all trades utilizing Arbitrage-Bots, rebuilding the Buy & Sell walls, and correct trading back to normal in literally "Minutes", ..... I've done it before with My personal coins and exchange. |
