The Blockchain restarts growing at that block# and the portion that was cut away is now 100% worthless.

No those trades will not be cancelled, they will NO LONGER EXIST.

It takes 5 minutes to simply cut the blockchain at Block# 7607789.

Any block after that from the original chain will No Longer Exist.

The problem is that many of the trades were not on the blockchain. They were contracts on leverage.

All the shorter made money on contracts and they have their money. You can't roll back contracts on individual exchanges.

For this to happen? Exchanges would be the ones footing the bill. And they would go under. Which would cascade lots of issues. It would be bitconnect on steroids. Thousands upon thousands of btc would be sold to cover losses. Everyone would lose. Bitcoin would crash lower than anyone expects. The ultimate black swan event.
