Right now there is almost nothing to buy worth owning.

A low end home is double what it's actually worth. 100k won't buy you a trailer on land right now in most desirable places.

If you want to be out in the middle of nowhere, miles form any services or city water and sewer, you might find some POS on land.

We purchased a Harvest Right freeze-dryer a few years ago and have been running it constantly to prep. As we find meat/food on sale it gets put into the machine and put up in storage.

Be debt free (credit cards) and move to the coast. Need to be near an ocean.
Just buy something modest. Save the rest. I'd say invest but that's not a good idea right now, so I'll hang onto a good amount of cash.

Move to southern hemisphere, no nukes, no nuke targets, before they turn the northern hemisphere into a radioactive desert.
For aprox 1000$ get a flight, one way to Argentina, the rest a property like this, mild weather, you can be self sufficient, grow some food, chickens, pigs, and pray God.

Buy stocks of comapnies that offer basic products and services (utilities, food, teleco, insurance, pharma), and pay dividends.

That's not much money to do anything with.

I would get your bug out plan in order. When / IF the USA collapses it ain't gonna matter where you store value. Hopefully you are near a fresh water source.

A still and lots of corn to ferment. Grain alcohol is one of the most useful/valuable things you can have in a depression. It's a fuel, solvent, antiseptic, and pain killer.

Are you realistic OP?

Historically REITS will outperform during inflationary markets. They are good hedge. Since they are Real Estate Investments...during inflation their core asset increases in value. Most have legally required dividend distributions.

And if the markets collapse leads to recession, when the recession begins to end, the core business of Real Estate will do well when the economy comes back.

I know some 'tards will start jabbering about Real Estate markets bubbles, but they don't understand what they are talking about. This is not 2008 where it was Govt. manipulation of lending markets causing increased demand during a period of no inflation. That is a classic bubble. This is cost-push inflation caused by a massive increase in the money supply. Housing prices rose dramatically in the period after Lyndon Johnson created the Great Society for the same reason...government created cost-push inflation.


FYI...I am a member of Mensa with a B.S in Economics.
I just read Thomas Piketty's 900 page book "Capital in the Twenty-First Century". And I've recently invested more that 100K in REITS.

Give it to the needy. Lots of disabled and older folks living on 900. A month. So probably that.

I'd buy a RV or tiny home on wheels - so when they come for our property, I will have some place to live comfortably without being a burden to others.

Buy mobile homes and flip or rent. I get about %50 Roi in rent per year. Get a few going and you got a little empire. I can buy 30 mobile homes here for what a house costs and rent them all out at $600-800 profit per month.

I'd put the max in I bonds and probably buy land with the rest. Last I checked mother nature isn't manufacturing any more land.

I guess the real question is how liquid you need your $100k to be. If its extra money over and above your emergency fund, I'd be looking for a wooded lot near a trout filled spring fed stream if it were me.

The overall year-over-year price of consumer goods and services is now 8.3%. That's a fine plan if you're alright with inflation eating up 8.3% of that money annually.

I've worked too hard to flush my hard-earned money down the shitter like that.

Just paid off 95% of all debt. Only debt is mortgage and two credit cards which are at 0 as of now. I have about $450,000 in home equity.. but truthfully $100,000 is not much dependent on where u live. I live bay area CA.

We grow our own vegetables and most the fruit we eat we grow. Have chickens and I fish n hunt.
