There is a Diesel Shortage Coming in 2022 - Expect a Diesel Price Hike | |
gebahie User ID: 80232103 United States 05/14/2022 12:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's a diesel shortage coming in 2022 yet most people have no idea how big the diesel price hike will be or how it'll affect us all, trucker or not. The coming diesel shortage will be felt throughout the entire country. Most people have no idea that the East Coast has about 3 days of diesel left and is experiencing historically low diesel volume. There will be a major diesel price hike on the east coast followed by yet another diesel price hike on the west coast. There will be diesel rationing, and it'll start on the East Coast. Everyone will feel this the diesel price increases in their everyday purchases and grocery bill. We recently set an all-time-high record for diesel price and now we beat that number with the average diesel price sitting at $5.55 per gallon and the cheapest was at $5.12 per gallon. Now diesel prices have stabilized in the nation at over $5 per gallon and a big rig needs a lot of fuel. What most people don't understand is that pretty much all industrial and agricultural equipment runs on diesel. 75% of pretty much everything we own comes on semi trucks which burn diesel fuel. Trains, boats, and barges, all use diesel to move freight throughout the country and internationally. Public buses, school busses, most of the farm and construction equipment in the US runs on diesel. This will affect everyone because products will stop coming in to replenish the products being bought off the shelves. This leads to further problems in the supply chain and US stability. We'll see empty shelves and heavily unstocked stores. The supply chain is broken and we'll begin to see the repercussions of this diesel shortage starting over the next two weeks or so. It's going to be a wild summer and likely even a cold winter so be sure to stock up on all of the essentials because now we're just dollar cost averaging.
