Whats the best breed of dog to have in the upcoming doom, prepper situation?

Absolutley kitties help a farm!! Even a household.

Visla. It will hunt for birds, rabbits ect. a great watch dog and very loyal, kid friendly and only about 35 pounds so they dont eat much.

my friend was bitten by an akita but they are a great breed ....if some ahole looked over your fence, they would say fuck that.....and rob someone else

Personal opinion. I think Pits were overbred in the US knowing what was coming. Think about it, they get hungry, owners can’t feed them anymore, they attack and eat their owner. They go to the streets, now you have roving packs of Pits taking down people left and right in the streets for food. Even with guns, how many dogs, how many shots get fired before you or a family member is taken down.

When your in a real SHTF situation your dog has to have an important role or they are just another mouth to feed.

I have 2 labs and a rat terrier, all serve a purpose here on the farm no one eats for free.

In my area a hunting dog.

My Lab German shorthair cross is an excellent pointer and retriever, Plus she is very protective of her pack.No one just walks into our house without her letting them know she is there, We then do a proper introduction and acclimation.

It still amazes me how many people dont know how to introduce themselves to dogs that are not immediately friendly when in the dogs space.

Kengal for protection, autralian sheppard if your doing animal husbandry and then a terrier like a jack russell for flushing game from tight spots.

take your pick, many breeds have their specialties.

Excellent working dog breed, city folks and newbies will always be awkward around new breeds. i would if the breed was very aggressive.

A feist. They don't eat much and are great squirrel dogs.

Cane Corso without a doubt. Very protective of its owners.

In terms of athletic ability, problem solving, and raw violence against a human sized victim no dog is its match.
Alot of times they wont even bark and just observe a situation figuring it all out. No false alarms.

For a true SHTF scenario,You want a dog that is trainable, capable, and most of all Quiet. You want to be able to move from place to place without alerting strangers to your presence. A TRAINED Rhodesian Ridgeback is recommended for societal collapse.
