They are very sleek with almost a V shaped chest.

Their body seems longer and more slender than a German Shepard and they do NOT have HIP problems.

They are a shepherding breed.

They are very easy to train as well.

this actually might be true, you may not have the guts to eat other people in your household to avoid starving but statistically they will end up doing the hard work for you.

How about around the kiddos, my boys let the babies crawl all over them, grabbing ears, face, tails,..does the Mal get sketchy when kids crawl on them?

Awesome with kids. I got him at 8 weeks. My son was born just after we got him. He did great with our baby and two young daughters.

Their temperament is just like a German Shepard.

Pits in my humble, can be the best or the worst depends on the master. I had some Mexican buddies that trained their Pit to kill cats. They thought is was funny. It ruined the dog. However to me, even quality raised Pits, there is always an IT factor.....If and when they TWEEK out and grab a toddler...

Our dog has NEVER growled, snapped, or acted even slightly aggressive towards any of our family members for the eleven years we have had him.

In my teens I grew up around a beautiful German Sheppard. Smart as a whip and so protective. Great dogs!

Our Malinois is eleven and getting older. I do plan on getting another. My wife always says she wants a "normal" dog, meaning something like a Labrador, LOL. She knows we will get another Belgian Malinois.

Most shepherding breeds tend to be a lot more active and she was raised with lazy type dogs.

My son has a Great Pyrenees, ..Once his chickens got loose and I watched this dog with no training about 11 months heard up the chickens and wrangle them back into their coup. It was awesome. Pure instinct.

Unless i have missed it i cant believe no one has put the humble Lurcher up here. My fave is Collie x greyhound with some bedlington thrown in. Never go hungry with a well trained Lurcher. A pair of them even better.
A pointer would be handy too

I had to search engine that breed. Honestly I know nothing about those guys. I know Collies and Greyhounds but not that one. Interesting!

Depends what you are looking for.

If you want a dog that Looks Scary and IS A Bad Ass dog.

Then you might look at the German GSD, Red & Black are the Coolest Looking.

My Last one was 125# 30" at the withers he Sounded like a Bear when He Growled.

He could Moth and Pop a Basket Ball or Soccer Bll like in 2-3 bight downs he would push his K9 Teeth into the Ball, Think what if it Was Your Head.

I recommend a very small breed. My Shi-Tzu´s will alert me to the smallest of sounds, long before anyone has the chance to make it up the boobie-trapped stairwell. I will take care of defending the pack myself, rather than getting a big breed to do that for me and likely have him hurt or killed with no vets to be found anymore.

The main reason, tho is that you can sustain them much, much longer than a big one. On what a 40kg dog eats a month I can mine alive for half a year.

I really do think smaller dogs are way to go in a shtf situation.

Dachshunds are hounds, they were bred by man to sniff out small burrow animals. God didn’t have much to do with it

Cane Corso/Italian mastiff. The Roman's used them in battle. When mine runs at me, I can only imagine the terror I would feel if he meant harm.
