Dammien (OP) User ID: 80529596 United States 05/26/2022 03:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A big muscular dog is best. It can defend you, and if you get really hungry there's a lot of meat on it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81700944 I would disagree, maybe having a viscious bark may help but I think the muscles would be too gamey. A run of the mill dog not too fat, not to buff would be best for crock pot and such... |

Dammien (OP) User ID: 80529596 United States 05/26/2022 04:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I Have english bulldogs so their bark is worse than their bite. What about you? Quoting: Dammien I suppose your dogs fire ar15's from their collars? No dog. If food is scarce, you'll probably eating your dogs. Sorry mate, I won't be eating my dogs, ..why? I know how to run trout lines, skin bucks and hunt. Hell, I'd eat squirrel before my dogs. Just inquiring to the different breeds that would help in an agrarian back woods kind of lifestyle...if and when society collapses. |

Aussies are excellent at noticing anything out of the ordinary and have amazing recall (very important). They won’t wander away. They may be barkers or fairly quiet (it depends on the individual dog). While they love a lot of exercise, and have great stamina, many are also content to snuggle with their owners on the couch if need be. As a bonus, they’re great dogs to help you relax- they’ll happily fetch and do all manner of activity with you. They also tend to eat whatever’s available- including fruit and vegetable scraps, so not terribly hard to feed (and medium sized to begin with). The downside is that many are actually quite cowardly when they perceive a threat and, as mentioned, they may bark. Chows are great at guarding, fearless, and typically very quiet, but they don’t have good recall, and can be inappropriate for children/feeble family members. Combining a chow and Australian shepherd with the best traits of each, should result in puppies that are vigilant, companionable, confident, and quiet with good recall and a medium appetite. As a bonus, both breeds house real quite easily. You’ll just want a serious broom and dustpan in your preps |
War Dog User ID: 80598477 South Africa 05/26/2022 05:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A mixed breed is the hardiest dog in Africa The most intelligent, versatile and strongest genes imo The higher the pedigree the more flaws through inbreeding, just look at the royal family A cross between a German shepherd and just about anything else makes for the most faithful companion in shtf times. I've had interactions with a chow chow but not the Aussie sheppard and never a mix. |

I would agree to a certain extent. Here in America, we just call them mutts. However sometimes these mutts are the very best! I think your right just depends on the extent of inbreeding. |

Quoting: Anonymousousous 46743843 That's how they are in the wild. They live underground in like prairie dogs in colonies and when something walks near enough for them to detect, they pour out of their lairs and attack. They're the land version of piranhas. Notice their huge ears/eyes and how quivery sensitive they are, oh and vicious. |
