We will never have what previous generations had so why bother supporting their failing economy. This is why many want to make the shift to Eco Communes. Because the older generation fucked up the world and the economy so bad we couldn't save it if we wanted to. |

Let’s GO User ID: 79695062 United States 05/17/2022 05:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My son purchased a home last fall for 165k. It had a second house and a old garage that needed to come down before he could get a mortgage. We demolished them and he got his appraisal today for 220k. Buying can be done, but you have to go for what no one else wants. And it helps to have parents that can loan you the money until it can get refinanced. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82260303 United States 05/17/2022 05:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | . Quoting: Zovalex Yup. Everything is being sold by “sealed bid” where buyers have no idea what others are bidding. I have a buddy whose house needs over $100,000 in updates (everything is still 1960’s), it just listed for $375,000 and sold for $435,000 in a sealed bid. With updates, the buyer will have over a half million into a house that’s worth $250,000 in a normal market. . We just sold our old house to Open Door for 80k more than asking. Foundation had a crack and needed many repairs. They deposited $$ and gave us a week to move out. We drove by the other day and there was work being done on it already. |

I see these prices as wagers that inflation will keep spiraling. So unless sellers can quickly multiply/convert that cash, they will have traded their house for the price of a car or something, a year from now |
