Be wise plus an get a place in the high of some mountain, here in Colombia there is Sierra Nevada de Santamarta, but Perú is a better country and sure has a lot of excellent places in the high.

USA is a cesspool of shit, but it's better than anywhere else on this god forsaken planet.

Don't turn to see Mexico.

Go take your shitty way of life, filled with bratty behaviour, over-eating, yelling to demand service in a crude, narcissist manner, fully arrogant and self-absorbed, tattooed little self.

Op the USA is a cesspool yes but it is a high class cesspool. I work overseas and let me tell you you want stand a chance overseas. you will be ripped off and beaten in matter of minutes where ever your thinking of going. Oh yea most countries have real border control unlike america. They dont hand out visas.

Wait to the first time you get sick and need a hospital you will suffer a painful flight home.

You retards scream this shit but have no idea how great you have it here. SO STFU and deal with it. If you go overseas you probably coming back in a body bag. FYI most of the world hates americans these days yes that means you OP no matter your politics you are a american and they hate that!!!

The best medical care I've ever received was in Mexico City and Thailand.

In fact, I've flown several times to MXC from the 'medical hub' of Houston for better medical care, and including flight and hotel, it was less expensive than in the US.

I've had the great fortune of lots of international travel for long periods of time. You are full of shit...or you are chosing the wrong countries and don't know how to conduct yourself while there.

.
 Quoting: TXP

Yeah I'm not buying into this fear crap either. There are tons of expats who couldn't be happier where they are now. Many have had to leave to get healthcare because here their medical bills would bankrupt them. Sure, many expats go back because they can't learn the language and get homesick but that's not me.
 Quoting: Zetetic Ben

The biggest thing is learning the language here, most people only speak Spanish. I never studied it, in fact I studied German and French, I picked it up through immersion but I'd reccomended studying at least some wherever you go.
 Quoting: Monger of Many Things

I have a pretty good grasp of Spanish and it gets much better when I'm immersed in it too. Fluency is top priority

Through my wife i got my 2nd passport, along with our kids. I think i trust my wife, that her country of origin is safe and welcoming to us. My wife just visited a few months back with our kids they absolutely loved it and were never in danger. Lol this is so fucking stupid. Is it better than the usa, absolutely not, safer yes.

Things will be different when millions of European Americans start fleeing, back to Europe, preferably to one location. This will be the place everyone will want to be and we will demand the freedoms we are accustomed too. This is where the fight should be, not America.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72634868

Eastern Europe is basically my second home. I feel safer there then walking the streets of my own city but there is plenty of crime. If something is not locked down it is basically gone.

I like Colombia because it's pretty cheap and easy to fly back to the states. Been there about 12 times. I was just in Turkey looking at good retirement areas. Some of the cheapest good retirement areas are in Turkey IMHO.

So you are going to South America with all the cartels and corruption. Sure there is corruption here in the States, but at least we have the Bill of Rights...

Do you really think they will accept a Gringo in South America. Unless you were born there or have family there, I doubt they will accept you. Many people hate Americans. You can end up being taken hostage by the cartels. Think how that will effect your retirement...

For me, I'm staying in the USA. When it comes to fighting, I'll be keeping my powder dry and using correct gun technique...

Just wait for the WHO to send the blue helmets for the mandatory jabs and quarantines. Blue helmets make good targets...

Man, put down your Netflix. "All the cartels and corruption", no normal person deals with that. I'm a gringo and very well accepted, I'm just one of the neighbors. I'm not a degenerate sex tourist or drug addict like a lot of the gringos though. Married and living a nice middle class life, nobody hates me and no cartel is going to take me hostage.
If I had a dollar for every time I got suspicious...

They didnt ask to shoot it down!

U.S officials have suggested the crew of the CIA-operated surveillance aircraft tracking the missionary plane repeatedly asked Peruvian military officials to slow down the A-37's actions against the missionary aircraft, but the Peruvians cut corners in the established procedures and rushed with their shootdown orders.

Tapes of the incident are not expected to be made public for awhile. But ABCNEWS has confirmed that an American crew member repeatedly asked Peruvian surveillance "are you sure this is a bad guy?" before shooting down the missionary plane.

At another part of the tape, one U.S. crew members on the CIA surveillance plane says to another "I think we are making a mistake." A response is heard: "I agree."

Obvious they would have liked to force it to land, capture the pilots, extract information about the cartels and put them on trial.

But POC did not follow instructions and were trigger-happy!

The OP is correct, but his solution is wrong.

Taxes are rising in America and many other countries to fund the immigrant and resident hordes of POC.

To solve it, you stay back in America, and fight to stop color/race-based AA and diversity. And repealing of hate crimes / speech laws under which the POC hide.

Trump was actually doing it via MAGA before the POC removed him.

During the 2016 campaign, Trump followed the anti-immigrant script, which was re-branded as MAGA, and won successfully. The script had at its core, all the dangers the immigrant POC hordes posed:

* The threat of the Mexican drug cartels and rapists
* Against migrant Arab Muslim rapefugees and terrorists
* A Muslim ban from many Islamic countries
* Promised a wall and massive deportation of illegal immigrants
* Talked against H1B visas and outsourcing
* Promised better trade deals, and bringing backs jobs from abroad

The powerful anti-immigrant and anti-POC MAGA script, ensured Trump winning the Republican nomination easily. Also attracting enough White voters in the battleground states to win them, and trounced Hillary in electoral votes to become President.

Affirmative action is under attack from the Trump administration.

Re: Pretty much made up my mind to leave the USA
OP, Went on a blind date, long before the pandemic, with an ex-pat who'd left Vegas for Costa Rica.

Yes he still returned annually to Vegas to briefly visit with his family and old friends.

So I asked him his very honest opinion of life abroad. Keep in mind he retired in his early 40's and is child-free, single, loves the beach & mountains. Yes he learned Spanish.

1) Locals view Westerners as rich, petty theft is rampant and local LE are lackadaisical.

2) If you're not Catholic & didn't grow up in Costa Rica you will always be viewed as an outsider. You can't own a business unless you marry a local. Not being Catholic he spent Sundays at the local Italian restaurant with the other ex-pats. (Owner married a young local girl.)

3) Bugs are a HORRIFIC problem and are EVERYWHERE especially during the rainy season. Think HUGE bugs in the toilet, in the bathroom, in the kitchen. NOTHING gets rid of them.

4) Anything that's not locally grown/made is very expensive. He arranged for family members to buy products from Amazon and then to ship it to him to save money. Took forever to get simple needed goods.

Yes he still loved living in Costa Rica and got used to all of the downfalls. Still be forewarned.
 Quoting: NotStarvingActress

Similar situation here, but I went to an isolated area and made an effort to assimilate. I'll never go back. The beaucracy in this country is insane, but the way of life is worth it.

An earlier poster mentioned high property prices in Europe, this may be true in Northern Europe, but if you can deal with it, look to places a long way from the cities. Your 300k will buy you a farm if you shop smart.

Look at some of the Greek islands, good climate, relaxed living and great food, if that's your thing. Many expats everywhere too.

That's their objective. It's a global agenda, so unless you build a spacecraft that can make it to another livable planet, it's a waste of time, energy and money. Besides there's plenty of places in the U.S. that would feel as if you left the country, trust me every state is different and in many it's way different.
