Hurricanes are gonna have to wait.

Right now it’s monkey pox, high gas prices and starvation season.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81837019

No development expected on the 'radar' for the next 5 days.

13 days, including today, to June 1st (opening day for 2022 hurricane season).

That said, not only is the Gulf Loop already in August form - western Africa is pushing out it's first trans-Atlantic dust storm.
Things are hot and dry there also.

 Quoting: Humanitarianlike

I was of the impression the dust storms did not portent for big storms. The opposite in fact.
 Quoting: Starbird

That's correct. They can hinder developed/developing tropical storms and the early 'dust storm' activity in western Africa could also be a omen for an active season, which has already predicted by NOAA.

The last two Atlantic hurricane seasons saw considerable Saharan dust - how much worse may they have been without it?

Re: Atlantic Hurricane 2022 Season: Bad News
I Live in Florida so Hurricane season never fully leaves the mind. I just got a new roof this year due to storms.

I dreamt, recently that we had a storm so bad it created an entirely new category. I dreamt it hit the Florida East coast as a 5, traveled across the state became a 5 again in the Gulf; and hit Texas or NOLA, traveled inland and back out around South Carolina and circled back to hit Florida's East Coast again.

Talk about a nightmare.
This thread reminds me its time to get prepped.

Was talking w/ pal o'mine near Baton Rouge. Said they flooded out, whereas after many decades of being raised there, that had never happened before.

And Gulf coasters are a bit worried this season.

Ditto.

I lived in south Florida when our military was streaming down the coast under the Kennedy administration, but we moved not long afterwards.

I returned for vacation in late 1994, right after Hurricane Gordon couldn't make up his mind where he wanted to go - 2 FL landfalls and nearly a 3rd (if we count the Keys).

It could be decades yet but we are already THIS year seeing a significant uptick in windy-related natural disasters - derechos and fires.

New Mexico has seen 30 red flag days since April 1st. (as of May 13th).
Thread: Mesquite Heat Fire in Central Texas Consumes 50 to 60 Houses - Containment now at 58% on approx 11.256k acres

Last week South Dakota (I think) saw winds over 100 mph but more impressive was the fact that there were also 55 reports of winds over 75 mph (hurricane strength) that same day.

YA THINK!!! Was waiting for someone to mention La. Thank you commenter!

Seriously, New Orleans is BELOW sea level. Every day, no, every HOUR is a gamble living there. I’d be having a permanent coronary. Also, the theme of Katrina was “Govt doesnt care about Black People”...(thanks Kanye!) This is so the current narrative right now and there will be *something* that happens anytime now to repeat it....

Have friends in Grand Isle where Ida came ashore on August 29. They did not get electricity back until mid-January. We live a couple of hours north of GI and during the storm, I could feel our slab vibrating. Our house is 4200 sq ft so can you imagine the strength of winds it took to make that happen? A house a few blocks away shifted on the slab. Looked okay from the exterior but the homeowner, a friend of ours, said her house felt different after Ida. She had it inspected and that is when the shift was found. It had to be torn down.

I guess HAARP and XB received a few upgrades during the past year.

Prediction:

Florida (really, DeSantis) is going to be punished by 2 major hurricanes for going against the NWO narrative.

Last two years have seen rapid intensifiers in the Caribbean. Late in the season and those missed FL.

How many of those 30 years ac has the Gulf Loop been this warm in May?

Another factor is La Nina... tends to be less forgiving to the formation of tropic storms compared to El Nino. 2005 was especially brutal to Dallas-Fort Worth region when it received less than 20 inches of rainfall for the year.

May is picking up right where August 2021 left off. Hurricane Ida in August, the same dates as Katrina. What carnage these two wrought.

"The Atlantic hurricane season starts on June 1, and the Gulf of Mexico is already warmer than average. Even more worrying is a current of warm tropical water that is looping unusually far into the Gulf for this time of year, with the power to turn tropical storms into monster hurricanes.

It’s called the Loop Current, and it’s the 800-pound gorilla of Gulf hurricane risks.

I have been monitoring ocean heat content for more than 30 years as a marine scientist. The conditions I’m seeing in the Gulf in May 2022 are cause for concern. One prominent forecast anticipates 19 tropical storms – 32% more than average – and nine hurricanes. The Loop Current has the potential to supercharge some of those storms."

Indeed. Something like a 55 to 60% chance for la Nina this summer, last time I checked.
