Are you going to be alright for water if the drought keeps up?

America was a joke for wine 10-15 years ago nasty stuff....the bottles I've tried recently are up there with anywhere in Europe or the other New World producers.. you probably have some ideal soil and growing conditions..

I bought many top rated patented Muscadine varieties @ Ison's and have a great vineyard! I highly recommend their "Supreme" variety. Makes great wine, too!

I would remove all of the weeds/grass that are near so they do not absorb moisture that is meant for the grapes.

I'm in the US and have a winery I can walk to around the corner. The owner is Italian and makes great wines.

I, on the other hand, have only made wine out of dandelions :).

Re: Check out our vineyard! beginning of a vineyard :)
What varietals you growing OP? I know Spanish Varietals like Garnacha, and Tempranillo grow well in most parts of Texas, as well as French Varietals like Petit Verdot.

Hybrids will do well in Texas(not a fan of most hybrids)

Id stay away from American grape varietals ie Muscadine, concord, etc. They are easy to grow, but make shitty wine. Put in a little more effort an grow Vitis Vinefera and make some good wine.

Texas is actually the 6th largest wine producinng region in the US.

Bullshit. America destroyed the French with their own varietals in a blind tasting at the Judgement of Paris in 1975. It was a 1973 vintage of Stags Leap Cab Sauv, and a 1973 Chateau Montelena Chard. That was the day that put America on the wine stage.

I use a 10-10-10 fertilizer applied all around each vine in March before a rain, & again in June for maximum production!
