La Listener User ID: 80082546 United States 05/23/2022 01:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's true. I was just commenting last week on this. All of the Walmarts around where I live were open 24 hours. Even if you go into the evening hours, after the work rush it is a dead zone. Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. ~Winston Churchill It takes two to speak the truth - one to speak and another to hear (listen).~Thoreau |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 64214697 United States 05/23/2022 02:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Every grocery store in my area including Walmart now close at 11pm. The manager of one local Walmart said they will never go back to 24 hours, it was a corporate decision. I believe We are just being conditioned to more control and more lockdowns. Welcome to the new world order! |

What gives? And it's not just Walmart... EVERYTHING that used to be open 24 hours a day or past midnight still closes early. Why can't we shop at night? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76463429 All the Walmart's in the Portland metro area amd SW Washington close at 11pm |

Notice how "THEY" put the screws to people, increase control over people, during supposed crises, yet once those crises abate those additional controls NEVER disappear! It is all about creating a totally controlled environment and most importantly CONDITIONING people to accept it! It really is a "boil the frog" kind of situation. |
Overgoverned User ID: 80531037 05/23/2022 02:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is an important question that deserves an honest answer. Zero chance we'll be given an honest answer, but we deserve one. I know of no 24 hour stores (aside from gas stations, and there aren't as many 24 hour gas stations as there were before the scam was uncorked) at present. They've lengthened their hours a bit, closing at 9:00, then 10:00, then 11:00, but none's back to 24/7/363. 24 hour operation became the fashion because someone else was doing it. There may have been a trace of public service involved with the first guy who tried it, but the primary motivation was greed. One more dollar is one more dollar in my pocket. But after someone pioneered the idea, the jealous competition couldn't bear to think that the pioneer was making his dollar (even if he wasn't really making a dollar). So it became the standard. Some stores may have realized that they weren't recovering their expenses, especially when you factor in shoplifting losses, but it's not easy to tell your customers that we're no longer going to be open 24 hours. That's what made the "crisis" an attractive excuse to change to profitable operating hours. I think it'd be nice if there were a 24 hour Homo Depot type store. One never knows when a plumbing problem is going to happen, and while I don't have a problem with turning the water off for a few hours, it will need to be fixed, eventually. May as well fix it now. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83277861 They stopped doing that 5-6 years ago. Locally, they did it right up until the Covid closures. Then, they used the excuse they were using the extra time to "disinfect" the store. What's the excuse now? Planet Fitness also used to be 24 hours but now they close at 10 on weekdays and 7pm (!!!) on weekends. They still charge the same price even though there has been a drastic reduction in hours. If the places were open 24 hours, people worried about the virus could go during overnight hours where there will be less people. They are doing the complete opposite of what is in the best interest of public safety. |

But actually not , excessive , wasteful and needs to go . Got 24 HR petrol station or even vending machines in places if stuck . not to hard in most situations to get some Things before 11 pm and closing time . Places like towns in Germany hard to find shop open on Sunday still .,. ,., good thing not living to excess and then need more bodies usually immigrants etc things go down hill , all gets corrupted. thats how starts , shop before 11 pm not to hard to keep country further falling into .... yes less shoppers at night due to habbits due to tech, like phones and Netflix .... |
