People met in book and zine stores, not the internet. Discussions went deeper, when uncles spoke up it really counted for something. Overall we had access to less information but the quality was so much higher, better signal to noise ratio for sure. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79780865 plenty of people talked on the internet in the 90's. you just weren't aware of it. That's when the internet was still truly the internet. almost everything was peer-to-peer except for message boards. no one could be traced. now it's just garbage. |

The Anarchist Cookbook was still popular. Late 90s, a lot of people started connecting dots about the Clintons. It wouldn’t let me post his name, but a prominent guy who questions things started getting popular in the late 90s. Really, just watch episodes of the X-Files and you’ll get the gist. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80966462 United States 05/25/2022 03:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There were conspiracy forums on the internet. Also lots of sites devoted to conspiracies. A bunch of stuff got declassified in the 90s by Clinton that was reclassified by W. Bush. So, we actually had better stuff to work with... Now, we have to convince people anything happened ever when back then you could just look it up. But, most people don't care. And want to believe whatever they wish. A lot of stuff that we talked about then has happened by now, so I guess it doesn't matter. One thing that got talked about back then that doesn't now (because it's not a thing any more) is the unmarked black helicopters. Obviously, drones exist now. Also, the vans. Again drones can do a lot of what they did. Or, just your phone, TV, and computer. If they want to know anything about what you're doing or saying, they know. Hi guys. Im doing nothing as usual. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77732750 United States 05/25/2022 03:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Omg! Yes! The normies all got obsessed with that. It was most of us who were saying calm down. They are fixing the coding right now. But, maybe joke's on us. Things didn't change that much at first, but after 2001 they did. I was living within walking distance of downtown St. Louis that night. I have never heard such a city-wide ruckus. When midnight hit it was just like the whole city was cheering like a pop star just went on stage and started his show. That was my first personal experience with mass insanity. |

Quoting: Anubis What do you think they do at these underground base’s like Harbor aliens Secret technology Clones Or all three and more. One theory some people had is some government agents were fighting some specific aliens down there. Not the whole government agency, just the ones who had been assigned to the aliens that went out of control. So, these agents were mostly just trying to keep the aliens underground. That's why the rest of their agency could not help them, they could not get to them. Or something. I am not saying this is true. I am just saying it's an old story about the underground bases i read once. |

Yeah, some people were very excited, not scared. Of course, after New Years, then came the articles explaining that au contraire, 2000 did not begin the 21st century. Oh no, 2001 did. I personally think when you write the year with the first two numbers being different then people are right in thinking that's a thing, but so many of those articles did i see. I just chilled at home. I guess I was hedging my bets. I remember being kind of sad the 20th century was ending although I didn't know why. And I wasn't old or anything in 2000. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82705682 Netherlands 05/25/2022 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All the conspiracies of today were being exposed in the 1970s, 80s, 90s, but you had to know where to go to get the info, books, mailing lists, expensive VHS tapes of homemade documentaries. These days, too many tards and n00bz clutter up the truth-seeking community and just derp nonsense, get obsessed with the wrong rabbit holes. Earth being a globe is the biggest deception, but many here go full Karen-tard when you try to engage in a civil discussion on what the Earth is. |
