First, I see OP used concocted so he may believe that whatever he's thinking is a modern corruption.

However, the Sphinx gazes due east at the horizon, not up into the noon-ish sky.

The Apis bull was most likely recognized as the age of Taurus. Of the 67 gods of Egypt most are considered mythological (basically astronomical) - deities and sub-deities and then men near the end of the Kings List.
