The article in today's Telegraph recounting the consultation by SOE of an astrologer to monitor Hitler should come as no surprise. In 1941 Churchill telephoned Aleistair Crowley , who was an expert on German occultism, and Ian Fleming. Together the two worked, using elements of the Sappers, to create a massive occult ceremonial in the Ashdown forest that involved clearing a circle and an avenue of trees. The rituals they organised served to convince Rudolf Hess's contacts in the Romanian embassy in London that there was an English off-shoot of the Order of the Golden Dawn, and as part of an elaborate plot conducted by SO1 helped to convince Hess that there was a genuine Peace Party in Britain, whose head was the Duke of Hamilton. The propitiousness of the 11th May as a day for Hess to travel was carefully rehearsed into the rituals, and Crowley made a genuine attempt to use them to ensnare their quarry by magic.

Hess was provided with a remarkable amount of comfort as a result of SO1's efforts as to the existence of the Peace Party and of Hamilton's goodwill, including the promised use of his position as a senior RAF officer to keep Scottish airspace safe for Hess's flight.

Interesting to note that although Crowley agreed to work on the project, he and Churchill were openly hostile. After the event, when Churchill phoned Crowley to thank him, Crowley told him he had not done it for Churchill and demanded payment, Churchill was said to have told him to fuck off!

1. Crowley wasn't a Satanist. He was a Thelemic magickian. The OTO is not a Satanic organization.

2. The 'V' sign, no matter if the palm is inward or outward, is not a symbol used by Satanists (Anton LaVey's cult) or OTO (Crowley's group). It's not a Thelemic symbol. It's not a Masonic symbol. It's not a Satanic symbol. It's not even a Gardnerian Wicca symbol.

3. The Crowley "giving" the 'V' to Churchill story is an urban legend. Churchill adopted it after another foreign dignitary used it to give the message of "victoire" or victory. Churchill misused it a few time (palm inward, meaning 'f*ck you" in the U.K.) but eventually settled on the palm-forward version.

4. The sign developed out of WWII's "victory" symbol into one of peace (the war ended, people flashed the 'V', thus it signified peace) and so American hippies adopted it as a peace symbol.

5. All that being said, there was a connection between Crowley and Churchill, but the 'V' symbol wasn't it.

No Satanism here, folks. If anything, Churchill just never knew that the palm-inward version had been a U.K. insult in the lower classes for centuries when he adopted it to mean "victory."

Who was worse - the Third Reich or the British Empire? I'd say the latter, which is the force undermining America, today.

I read somewhere, years ago, that a coven of British witches were taking the credit for raising a storm in the Channel to protect England from invasion directly after the evacuation from Dunkirk.
