lol I live here, winters aren’t that bad to be honest. I lived on the east coast for years and it was comparable, maybe ~10 degrees colder and double the snow

the only bad weather out here is wind, often once/twice a week will be 40+ mph sustained winds all day

I live here too and agree about the wind. I live on a gravel road and snow combined with those winds can make impassible roads pretty quickly. Then you're at the mercy of when the grader will open your roads which cold be a couple of days or more.

Not going to say what States I recommend in order to prevent the wrong ones also relocating err I mean invading....but obviously I would flee any liberal city... Like yesterday!
