"Threw a clot" - Nurse's husband after knee replacement

Was in hospital today.

Nurses are talking about complications ones husband after having knee replacement at age of 56.

Nurse one:
"They won't say what they think happened to cause his short term memory loss since March. And they do not like a family member who is a practitioner weighing in."

Nurse two:
"What do YOU think happened?"

Nurse one:
"I think he threw a clot."
