Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79180373 Maybe a couple could qualify for the toxic masculine kind, but not the true authentic kind. Your criticism is useless without you picking a song for this thread, so the rest of us can understand where you're coming from. There is nothing toxic about "King Nothing" by Metallica. It's just straight truth. They're standing for what's true and right. What is more masculine than that? |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 83599438 Hong Kong 06/09/2022 03:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am pondering if that song is an example of "toxic masculinity." Is calling a woman a "little bitch" toxic? That's the only thing that could be construed as toxic in that song after all. My opinion is that "little bitch" isn't toxic if it fits. Let's get Merriam-Webster's opinion: informal + often offensive : a malicious, spiteful, or overbearing woman [link to www.merriam-webster.com (secure)] It's often offensive according to them. Offensive doesn't equal toxic necessarily. There are certain words that have no adequate synonyms, and I think bitch is one of them in this context. Since the word bitch is used in the strict literal sense, I see nothing wrong with it at all. My verdict: There is no toxic masculinity in "Sex and Violence" by Stone Temple Pilots. |
