My Favorite TV Show - The Offer (ending soon!)
This show is story telling at its finest. The finale is next week and I'm left wishing some of the main character stories behind the making of 'The Godfather' movie might spin off, sorta like 'Yellowstone' has.

What a great production. Somehow, 'The Godfather' has managed to assemble the perfect cast twice in fifty years...once for the movie...and today with 'The Offer.'

In this incredible scene, Al Ruddy (prod), Coppola (dir) and Puzo (auth) and Bettye (Al's asst) meet Brando at his home.

It's worth the price of admission. Great 70's vibe, too.

Me too OP.

What a great show. I had no idea what Al Ruddy went through to make The Godfather.

Really cool too after each episode there's a behind the story segment.

Really interested on how they will end it.

There's a tease that they did something to "make movie history" and change the dynamic in Hollywood.

I've been doing a low-level search of that subject to sort of satisfy my curiosity, but haven't found it yet.

This is the 50-year anniversary of the movie coming out. Their treatment of the inside story behind it all is compelling stuff.

I know that they were talking about the cut making it 175 minutes, taking out the 30mins that Barry Lapedis demanded.

And then when Bob Evans took back control and approved the full length and how they were worried about how many showtimes they could accommodate each day.

I looked up the original release run-time..its only 175 minutes... per wiki.

Also they set records with the box office.. extending hours of theaters cramming 7 shows in one day which was never done before.

I'm thinking it might be about the above.. Can't wait.

Re: My Favorite TV Show - The Offer (ending soon!)
THE OFFER is the first series I've ever streamed and as a long-time THE GODFATHER fan, I'm really glad I did!

Back in the mid-70's I was lucky enough to study with Dick Smith -who created Brando's makeup for the film- and in my GODFATHER collections today have a copy of Brando's lifemask that Dick cast along with autographs of all the principle stars, plus those of Coppola and Mario Puzo. Over the decades I've owned multiple VHS and DVD releases and currently have the three films in two different Blue-ray editions [I've even watched them in 3-D] so -trust me- I know that trilogy inside and out and THE OFFER never disappoints!

From the beginning scenes it exudes homage and only improves thereafter; the writing, design, acting and -above all- the casting are superb throughout.

Francis Ford Coppola kept notoriously detailed thick, bindered notebooks of every aspect of THE GODFATHER productions while making his classic trilogy [and used for future re-edited versions] and some of that material is clearly on display here, even though Coppola's name is absent as a Producer.

Nevertheless, Wily old Francis' backstage string-pulling is evident whenever scenes involving actual THE GODFATHER filming are depicted; notice how you never actually see any of the film's scenes recreated...instead they occur off-camera where we may hear snatches of sound and see reactions from the film crew and visitors to the set.

Coppola obviously didn't want anybody duplicating his classic work. And rightly so!

You'd better believe that the second Paramount makes this series available for pre-order on Blu-ray my name will be on that list.

The COOL thing is that a one-month subscription to PARAMOUNT+ is only $4.99 so you can watch the entire 10-part series for only five bucks. And it'll be a fiver very well-spent!

In the show Barry wanted it to be two hours and told them to cut 45 minutes. So if it was released at 175 minutes, that would be they didn't cut it down to the 2 hours (120 minutes).

Paramount+ has some of the most woke fecal matter out there, including all the new Star Trek shows, which are both insultingly retarded and have terrible acting. They are burning down the Star Trek franchise to the ground.

In Picard, they couldn't be woke enough in the 24th Century so they had to time travel to our time to be even woker. The police are bad, the border patrol are worse, illegal aliens are saints, Seven is a lesbian, the Pledge of Allegiance is evil, Conservatives end up destroying the world, vaccine chips are the future, on, and, on, and on...

Which is why I'll be cancelling my Paramount+ subscription after I've watched all ten episodes of THE OFFER. Hopefully if enough people do that, they'll hustle those DVD's out faster to score more quick revenue! After all: it's mentioned repeatedly in THE OFFER at Paramount it's always been about the money. I kinda' expect Paramount to release THE OFFER on disc around Christmas if not before.

BTW: a former "made guy" -Michael Franzese- has several Youtube vids where he details his life among the families. He's done two on THE OFFER where he shares his memories of the mob and in particularly Joe Colombo, who figures prominently in series.

Franzese had just left the stage the day Colombo was gunned down, a scene which is included in the miniseries. His biggest gripe seems that in reality there were around 50,000 people at that rally instead of the smaller crowd THE OFFER depicts.

But overall he really raves about this show....

Halo is unbelievable.. Great story, acting/directing and visuals. 1883 is good too.

When everyone was complaining about paying for things that they never watched like CNN and MSNBC on their $80 satellite bill back in 2005, one of the ideas out there was paying only for what you do watch.

Star Trek Discovery - a woken disaster.
Star Trek Picard - a woken disaster.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds - so far, so good. Chillbumps! So much like the original. Spock is at the science station.

The Offer - a triumph. It glitters and shines.
Yellowstone - another triumph.

There are ten episodes of The Offer. A month subscription to Paramount+ is $5. It breaks down to fifty cents per episode, or less than a penny-a-minute.

Name one other thing that costs less than the penny-a-minute rate in 2022 that can move you lavish praise upon it. I cannot.

Someone at Paramount 2022 has gotten the message that to 'go woke' is to 'go broke'. Shows like The Offer wouldn't exist otherwise.

And as for Star Trek, Paramount must be given motivation to save it from the woketards. The 'firing scenes' in The Offer...offer hope that many of the woken will be fired, especially off of anything that has to do with Star Trek.
